GlenOak Football

Does anyone have an update on the Eagles?
I know the team was very young last year.
Not to mention they have a very good running back coming back from last year.

GlenOak has steadily improved each of the last two years, and that should continue. With the Burt brothers carrying the ball behind their big O-line the Eagles will score points. Now, if they can figure things out on the defensive side of the ball, they could be a scary team. GO was 4-1 last year when holding opponents under 35 points, but 0-6 when allowing over 35 points.

I'd like to see GlenOak have a winning season again. Good luck to the Eagles, just not in Week Six.

The Burts are good. There are also some other good players on that team. Many with multiple offers. Last year the team was young and now they are poised to finally put GO back on the map but with a lot of if's.

Now for an honest break down. The O is going to be really strong. Burt at RB is a given and considered 1 of the top RBs in the Fed. Tons of Seniors and what looks to be a Sr QB (Anderson) but the battle is on there. O Line is mostly returning some with multiple offers. They have a Sr TE (Morrison) with multiple offers. They have new some new super athletic kids stepping into WR and if Milk Burt isn't QB he will also be a force there. 2 Burts getting the ball from a QB seems to me as something no DC would like to plan against.

Defense: the D Line will be better and lots of Srs. DE (Lucas) will be a Sr who is very talented and likely a Jr (Olbon) or the TE. LB has a lot of change and will be an opportunity to kids to step up. Potential weakness for sure. Secondary has a Sr DB (Wilcox) with multiple offers and is very talented. Milk could slide into SS here too. Overall, the D will need to cut down on the big +20 yds plays to have a successful year.

This season will come down to can the defense make enough stops for what should be a potent offense and can the O mix it up enough not just rely on the run which only works against avg or below avg teams. Finally, the penalties will have to come down if GO wants to earn the W with what should be several close games in the Fed.

I think this may depend on where Massillon plays the Davenport kid.
I think Davenport, through no fault of his own, is relatively untested at TE....the pass catching aspect anyway. Relentless blocker though. Great size for a HS TE.

What is GlenOak's TE's name? Olbon? What's his size and has he been incorporated into the offense as a pass catcher?

I believe his name is Morrison is what I took from the above posts.

Morrison:
D2s: Ohio Dominican, Thomas More D3s: Mt Union, Otterbein and Wittenberg.
Wilcox:
D2s: Thomas More, West Liberty D3s: Otterbein, Calvin, Mt Union
Burt:
D2s: Tiffin, Alderson Broaddus, Walsh D3s: Otterbein, Mt Union
Anderson:
Heidelberg
French:
Heidelberg, Mt Union
Thanks, just curious if any were on the FBS level. Good for them though.

I'm definitely interested to see how Dover matches up with Glen Oak in a couple weeks. Sounds like they will be much improved this season.

May I ask where your information comes from. You have 4 players who will be playing positions that you don't mention. You may see Burt in the slot as or maybe more than the RB position. They have 2 maybe 3 soph that will start or see significant playing time. 2+ QTRS a game. Just curios

I just wrote that off the top of my head and focused on the older players I knew of. It by no means was a complete review. For instance, I am not even sure Milk is an option at WR too or will he be more QB, run wildcat or will he focus on SS. I think he will be used in a lot of ways. Big bro they are definitely going to use a bunch of different ways. A lot is up in the air before the 1st kickoff. I don't write for a newspaper and didn't breakdown all the players to be projected to play. Feel free to add to it. The gist of it is the O should be very good and it will come down to can the D manage enough stops to get them some wins and compete for the Fed. It looks like this will be another step fwd for GO.
