Started to watch Cheers ago....been decades

Still my favorite theme song.

Also liked the short lived Over There military show theme.song.

And of.course.....Wonder Years...

What.say you?

The first two that popped into my head were The Dukes of Hazzard (we actaully used to sing that song during music class when I was in elementary school) and The Love Boat (no explanation).

Had to edit this post as MASH just started playing in my head (song is actually titled Suicide is Painless).

For me it is two classics: Cheers and MASH

Also, 3 HBO entries: Game of Thrones, True Detective season 1, The Leftovers (GREAT shows all)

Finally, a newer one, What We Do in the Shadows. A very silly song for a silly yet raunchy show.

For my age I think Gilligan's Island, Brady Brunch then Wekcom Back Kotter or Starsky and Hutch are fairly iconic. when rememberingmy years. College years it became Hill St Blues. After that, I don't recall any that I associate with a period of life. Rental movies then streaming became a thing and sitting around tv's at a regulated time, less part of the regular schedule, Maybe that's why I can't think of any songs past the early 80? A lot of the shows people talk about, I only watched after they had completed their run or binged to catch up. "Skip opening sequence" is one of my favorite parts of a show.

I turn my TV on every weeknight at 11:59PM to hear the Taxi theme song. It puts me in a trance honestly because it immediately takes me back to the 70s when my parents watched it, while I was playing with toys or drawing on the living room floor oblivious to the TV…but my subconscious must’ve heard and processed it because it still functions as a mini time machine.
