this is a poem written by Conor Cronin '06....please read the whole thing...its amazing

A Soldier Has Fallen...
Not becuase of weakness, nor loss of hope,
Not becuase of want, nor becuase he gave up,
But rather becuase he gave it all he had, facedall the difficulties and fought back.
Because he was a soldier.
Becuase friends around him truly cared,
Becuase all that know him people are praying for him,
He fought the battle that he couldn't win, and went full force ahead,
Becuase he was a fighter.
In the darkestof times he still found a way to see the light,
With God next to him every step of the way,
Guiding, showing, leading him through all the evils,
Becuase he was stronger.
Through him that which we are given is joy and encouragement,
Happiness and laughter,
the power and will to do anything we want,
Becuase he was a teacher.
We all take for granted that which we have in life,
Family,friends,jobs,homes,cars,money, relationships,
Until that day when in just a blink of an eye everything we once knew is gone.

To a fallen soldier that was to strong for this world...we will never forget you, you are always in out hearts. May you live in peace with God forever and ever, with everything peaceful and no more pain. You taught us what it meant to be strong, you inspire us, and now its to you that we look for strength. May you watch over all of us, help us now in our difficulttime. To a fallen, in the mercy of God may you rest in peace.

Poem to Eric Gamble-1987-2003

Written by Conor Cronin-Class of '06

The funeral was one of the most touching I have ever been to. There must have been 800 St. Ed's students there. It was standing room only at St. Cyril and Methodius, the aisles were packed, they had kids sitting up on the sacristy. They even ran out of Eucharist to give out at communion, truly a great tribute to Eric. At the end the priest had all the St. Ed's students go out in front of the procession to make like a honor guard to the hearse. There wasn't a dry eye after that mass. Eric you will be missed, even by those who didn't know you.

im sorry

I knew Eric had been battling with cancer and I am sorry that this happened we are all praying for Eric at Ignatius

Cancer has a way of touching people of all ages. God Bless Eric and his family. May the St. Edward community be with them now in their time of need.
