Elida Releases Veteran Boys Basketball Coach Denny Thompson

Last year Elida averaged 40.75 ppg and gave up 60.8 ppg. I understand they were young. What did their JV team look like, how'd they do?

I know gas prices have gone up but you don't need to leave a winning program you've built for one that is well broken just to save a few bucks at the pump.

Any predictions for the Matt Tabler era at Elida?

I know nothing about the talent pool at Elida but I know that Coach Tabler will get the very most out of his players. I was lucky enough to have him as assistant baseball coach earlier in his coaching/teaching career. Definitely a players coach. I dreaded when he would throw BP, Coach Tabes was always trying to strike you out. But it made us better people and players which is all he really wanted. Wherever he goes success follows. People forget he was at the helm of two state champion golf teams at LCC. Elida basketball has a lot to be excited about.

people who can coach anything amaze me. A difference between people who can coach talent and people who can coach?
