Dublin Coffman 2024

Deric Williamson is the Central Crossing Comet you’re thinking of. He is the OC for his brother Trent, the coach @ Westland.

Stokes won't be fired, he can work there as long as he wants, the BEST coach
ever inthe district I am told by the people lol. Talent went down quickly after 2020 and the feeders haven't been good for a LONG time now. Team won't be better next year and Stokes has a losing coaching record overall the last 5 years and I am sure he isn't staying around here to further that below 500 record. He would risk 2-8 again next year for sure . Not happening.

Coffman heading to Westland and if the team that played Orange and Liberty competitively shows up? They win this game no question. Westland has athletes that can run away from the Rocks back end no question about that . How many long TD's do they give up and can they finish drives and score enough TD's to outscore them if they do as has been their flaw give up a few big play TD'S. Two years ago, Marysville came to Coffman stadium and as a 17 point dog won outright to get their first ever win over Coffman. Will Westland be the second team to get their first ever win vs. Coffman and oust them from the play-offs in round one.

Week 11 cont.

Westland - 5 Coffman

Maybe as big an indication of where the program has gone the last few years is being an UNDERDOG to Westland. How could this possibly be? Coffman run of being a top 3 CO program and consistently good year in and year out are over. Not a football school going forward in the near future. Hopefully it isn't too long a time to get back , but who knows. Rocks will score and keep up with Westland and cover this number. Do they win ? I'll call for the 'UPSET" of Coffman beating Westland . Yes you read that right, in 2024 Coffman football is on par with Westland.

Rocks 39 Comets 38

Week 11 Cont.

Berlin - 9 Grove City

GC has only beaten two teams with a wining record. Westland by 10 and Teays Valley by a lot [35} . When they step up oin class they lose and they lose by some margins. Lost to an average New Albany team. Made this line 13 so it's a definite stronger play. Bears don't always score enough to be that comfortable getting large margins but this line is fair and offers some value

Berlin 28 Grove City 12

Gahanna - 33 R-Burg.

Burg plays to the level of competition in many cases and they can stay closer than most would expect here as well. Gahanna defense is legit. They won't give up too much but how is the QB situation for the Lions? Made it 29 . So 4 points of value is something. .

Gahanna 35 Burg 7

Week 11 Cont.

Going outside the region at times in play-off time. Interesting match-up is Iggy vs Mentor . Mentor won by 6 earlier in the year and the 1-9 Iggy program has played arguably the toughest slate in the state. Louie has them as the second toughest behind Ed's. Mentor was a 7 point favorite in the first match-up and didn't cover it. it's now 17 ?

Mentor 27 Iggy 20

Groveport - 19 Delaware RH

Made the line 16 , Rutherford Hayes lost to Westland by 20 despite scoring 28 points. They likely won't score that many here, but won't give up that many either to this team. Narrow cover for Delaware with the back door open at least.

Groveport Mad 33 - DRH 15

Funny as we were talking about him at the last game and could not remember his name. He was a load at QB. Kind of an OL playing the QB position.

Westland is the Cougars, not the Comets...I believe you are confusing them with Central Crossing.

Sounds like Rocks/Westland lived up to the hype! Can't wait to hear more about the details of this Harbin travesty. (Add Kilbourne/Walnut Ridge and Tangy/Orange to this list as well).

The keystone cops Orange team showed up and handed Tangy multiple turnovers. Required an escape Houdini would be proud of to win the game late. Can't trust this team, never know which one is going to show up.

Kilbourne wins as a 15 seed, but I don't think any of us are really that surprised. There is just a tremendous gap between city league schedules and everyone else.

Oh, and to our lurker friend from Delaware, yeah sorry, still a laughing stock. But hey, at least you've got those highly ranked state players who rollup stats against lower division tomato cans.

Grove City I had expected might have more offensive success, but they could not run or throw screens at all in this game, Berlin played great defense and I think had them below 150 yards the entire game until a late fluke 60yd play when the score was already 28-7. Berlin didn't miss their injured players tonight, but I expect they will next week.

Springboro the real deal against Jerome, that must be a pretty good football team. Not seeing any other major surprises other than UA unable to get the running clock on Newark and actually trailing for much of the first half. Nice effort by Newark.

EDIT - WOW, had not seen the Bradley/Springfield result yet, that's a big win for them.

Shocked Bradley beat Springfield. I guess you could say the warning signs were there when Wayne beat them badly but never expected Bradley to win..UA had a much tougher time with Newark than I would have ever expected.

Springboro had scored 27 total points in their last 3 ballgames. Getting 17 total vs. solid Centerville and Fairmont is one thing but they only managed 10 vs Miamisburg . FFS Country Clubbers, what was that? Miamisburg isn't a good football team and held them to 10 , , you can['t hold them under FIFTY? Good Lord Muirfield High School . What to represent smh. Bradley beating Springfield is pretty surprising, but more surprising is Bradley scoring that many points in the win. Scoring 28 on the Rocks is no big deal, most decent Teams roll out of bed and can score three TD's on the Rocks this year, but I figured Springfield who isn't the same offensively would have a better defensive effort than that.

Marysville had improved and it seems that the Cats noticed it and took zero chances to pound them again. This is going to sound absurd to those who have followed me since the Huddle days, but if the Rocks bow out and can't keep going, I will root for Davidson to win R-2 to keep the OCC Central reputation strong. They have a nice team, not great , not vintage defense , but pieces are there to be a very tough out. They will beat Bradley no doubt next week but it may be a better game than it would have been a month ago . Then they would likely get Fairmont and their heavy run offense [Irony as HD was them in style adn now is more balanced} in the Regional Semi. Lebanon giving up 21 to Northmont doesn't bode well going against the Rocks next week. Rocks win again and advance I think . Setting up another match-up with old scrimmage partner and play-off foe [2013 Rocks won easily vs. mistake prone C-Ville on the road as a 13 seed} Centerville who they just played in a home and home in 2022- 23. Split those ballgames. Rocks defense would probably get them in that round as they won't likely be able to outscore this club.

Wayne only wining by 6 over formerly downtrodden Middletown is another tell that that program isn't at the same level . Olentangy having to play that team and being out when so many lesser teams are still playing is a Harbin glitch no doubt. . Delaware embarrasses itself along with the Country Clubbers , getting waxed by 40 plus. For the record of previous musings from a poster here, Trash program Coffman with their awful fans would cruise if they played Delaware / Embarrass them by scoring 50 as well most likely. Delaware would score more than 7 on the Rocks though. There is that but they wouldn't win or be that close IMO.

Everyone holds serve in the arduous R-3 landscape, but it must be said UA being down in the first half or most of it looks weird to me and might not bode well . Nerk is a better version of the old Nerk but a 12 point win? Nerk wasn't competitive whatsoever vs. what you would think are UA level program, GPM, Pick C, and even Canal beat them more easily. If UA can beat orange next week hats off to the coaching staff. Keep an eye on Liberty GPM, that one could be a bit more interesting than meets the eye. Berlin Gahanna might be a game neutral fans may want to check out. Very interesting match-up to say the least. PC- PN ? PN not this year ? When ? Davidson -Bradley is a great thing for the community and the revenue it should generate. Unexpected early X-mas gift for the district and an important dynamic for the very young jags who gets another week to prepare for play-off football .

R-1 showed huge disparity's among the clubs showing what the first round can be about. Embarrassing blowouts that teams who have only won a couple of ballgames probably truth be told didn't really want a big part of it anyway. Real play-offs start this week , Iggy non competitive vs Mentor after seemingly improving is telling . Region1 isn't very strong at all top to bottom [Yes R-2 is the worst but the bottom of each isn't any different or even R-1 bottom tier is worse} and Ed's isn't quite the same, but should win it.

Def not from Delaware lol...At least have the balls to tag me tough guy...Only laughing stock is the state of Dublin Athletics...All that money what in the world are they doing with it? ROI isn't there at all...Like I said, only sport in all of the 3 schools worth anything is Coffman wrestling...And since you know everything about HS football, you realize Akih was hurt last week and didn't play, so guessing if he played last night he wasn't healthy, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you'd die to be an OSU recruit...

Impressive double-down after Coffman won last night and Delaware got their doors blown off.

Meat-head posters who brag about their individual roster stars are a dime a dozen, had similar conversations with people all the time who consistently prove they know absolutely nothing about high school football by touting their individual kids while not having any kind of team/program. Watkins Memorial was another perfect example in this very thread. Princeton, Olentangy, other programs who brag about individual kids all the time, can never win important games.

When you have one hurt kid and the rest of your team gets crushed, you don't have a good football program, you have one or two generational players who are inflating results, which will go back down after they leave. And if you think teams who actually do have good programs despite not having lots of big name recruits give a flying F about any of that, you are truly fooling yourself. Just ask Olentangy, who has lost to lowly Berlin the last 3 years with Berlin teams that maybe had 2 or 3 D2 players on them at best.

And look....I get it. When a program is so bad at football and so desperate to have anything positive to talk about, they are looking for anything to make themselves feel better, so they cling on to there being "an OSU recruit". Believe me, no one else cares unless the team is actually good, which Delaware is definitely not.

Coffman had a bad year on paper because of the extremely tough schedule they had, but still was able to beat a team the Dispatch had ranked most of the year. That's what good programs do.

Don't blame you for trying to save face after your childish and ignorant rant blew up in your face. Well played.

Yes Coffman is in a down cycle , but the money comment is curious. It's not like the majority of Outer belt communities lack funds and or aren't very well funded. Coffman was one of the top few best all sports programs in the area for a while. Consistently very good in a lot of sports. That's isn't the case now, but laughing stalk term is coming from some emotional dislike of the community it seems. It isn't now, but the money and funds haven't changed . So where are you from PUGSLY? What's' the state of the athletic programs there?

R-2 seems to be Centerville's or Fairmont's to lose with Davidson lurking and being a tough out. I think the Rocks can go to Lebanon and win with Hudson being to much for many teams to even slow down. He is literally putting up video game numbers the last two weeks. Week 10 vs Bradley he ran for 280 yards and 5 TD's. He did Westland dirty to the tune of 370 yards rushing with 7 TD's carrying the rock 49 times. He threw in 105 yards passing to put the cherry on top of his first round masterpiece. Of course the other part of the story with the Rocks is giving up 42 points to Westland who was playing without one of their stars RB Reinhart who tore his ACL the week before.

Rocks have been a defenseless one man band of a team this season with Hudson dazzling runs spins and TD's carrying the team in the few victory's they have and keeping them closer in some of the losses. Army is getting a really versatile athlete who will be an asset to their program,

R-2

Lebanon, - 1 Coffman - Lebanon hasn't beaten a team with a wining record. Rocks should be able to win this one by maybe a couple scores. and take on Centerville where the clock will strike midnight most likely.

Davidson - 27 Bradley - Jags start 6 Frosh, a few Sophs are good players including the QB. Davidson is physically stronger and will wear them down, but I expect Bradley to throw whatever they have at them and compete better than the first matchup.

Centerville - 17 Springboro - C-Ville beat this team just a few weeks ago by 18 They will win again but the margin may be less? S-Boro wasn't scoring many points the month before playing the Country Clubbers of Muirfield. Hung 59 on them.

Fairmont - 11 Wayne - F-Mont won by 21 the first time out many weeks ago, they have won 7 in a row. Wayne had been hot before getting beaten up by Centerville. Tough call

R-3 Week 12

Liberty - 26 Groveport Madison

Patriots are perhaps peaking at the right time. have scored bushels of points [ JUST UNDER 200 TOTAL THE LAST 5 GAMES} and have won their last 4 since dropping a 3 point decision to UA. GPM has played well since getting upset by Burg 22-21. Played Pick Central well , escaped vs Canal and hammered Delaware last week getting a ton of turnovers. Liberty is winning the football game , but 26 is a lot, i think GPM can stay within this number.

Liberty 37 GPM 14

Pick Central - 2 Pick North

This isn't a vintage PC defense and they don't shut down good offenses. PN has a nice offense. Gahanna shot them down though and PC while not at Gahanna's defensive level has a few guy who can get after people . PN needs to get this one done for program credibility and I think they do in a potential instant classic. Made this a pick .

PN 34 PC 31

UA - 2 at Orange

UA struggled vs. a Nerk team that had been beaten up by teams in the same class or near the same class of UA. Orange won the first meeting and they are the better offense no question about that. UA doesn't score a ton against the better defenses they have played. UA was favored by 30 over Nerk and won by 12. I think if Orange takes care of the ball reasonably well they win here. All respect to UA who will make a few adjustments after giving up 28 the first game but I still think Orange has a bit too much . Have Orange favored by 3 so getting a couple is a decent value

Orange 24 UA 20

Gahanna - 15 O Berlin

Berlin banged up? Gahanna defense is peaking and playing really well. They don't score a ton on the few better defenses they have played, I think this one stays relatively close in a slugfest like way. Bears will battle. They won't score enough to win though.

Gahanna 20 Berlin 10

Teams preparing yesterday in 80 degree weather in week 12 .

Ohio the Cold weather football state

Week 12 R-2

Lebanon - 1 Coffman

Rocks will score, they are hot. Valerio- Hudson has been unstoppable. Rocks are 5-3 in the play-offs in Stokes short tenure and will be unfazed by the moment here as they have played fairly well in their last 5 play-off games , winning some close ones and losing a close one. Rocks have played the stronger schedule and this game is lines right . Close one?

Unfortunately (. Ok. I love it there so fortunately lol) I’ll be in Dublin (. Ireland ). Friday night . Will try to follow the game if I can but probably be asleep after. A long day / travel . Be home by Wednesday and looking forward to getting to see the Rocks play one more time in person this season vs . Centerville . (. London maybe ? ) Go Rocks

Enjoy your trip. I'm seeing 40 degree temps by the time the games are over, and while its not 25, it's still much more seasonal. At least cramping shouldn't be an issue except in extreme cases. Though I have a soft spot for Lebanon since that's where I got my driver's license back in the day (the test there was much easier than other Cincy area places) I think the Rocks will show superiority here.

Berlin's best defender was in a walking boot last week, it definitely didn't matter then, definitely will this week. Defense is extremely solid vs 95% of teams they play, but a game like Orange is what I expect this week with some tackling issues, and as you mentioned, with leading WR out now for the last few weeks the offense just lacks punch to make up for any mistakes.

Orange/UA rematch is very intriguing, can't believe how sloppy they get with turnovers at times, because the ceiling is so high for Orange when they play clean or at least limit mistakes. If they play like they did last week, will definitely lose this rematch. I'm expecting PN to beat PC again, but couldn't be surprised too much if it ended up the other way. Enjoy the games yawl

Greetings from Galway , Love this city. Bengals are in trouble but thanks for the cover .

Sitting at about 500 after my best year ever vs. Louie is a best yearn to worst year situation.

Week 12 cont.

Davidson -27. Bradley

Bradley snoring more and should be able to score a couple times tonight but can they stop Davidson from running wild ? Not sure . Sharp line but will grab points with thinking Bradley will make some adjustments off of getting boat raced the first time .

Davidson 36. Bradley 14

Centerville-17. Springboro

Great line and not something like most of these I would recommend for real but this is where we are . Slight cover for Boro.

Centerville 29 Springboro 13

Fairmont -11. Wayne

Play 8 times ? 4-4 ATS. Wayne has enough to at least keep the back door open here. Let’s say they stumble in late

Northmont. 31 Wayne 23

Teams packing it in folding their tents and going out with less fire and focus are always teams you try to identify to go against . Kent State was one of them losing 41-0 for us .

Utah State just won against a tomato can but is limping towards the finish line and plays a motivated Wash St team who is laying less than 21 which is the play on point for me.

WSU 41-16

Army QB was ruled out basically a few minutes before the game vs. AF affecting our play greatly . But in game adjustment helped but still a very significant difference with the backup .

Questionable this week off of the lackluster win vs. a bad Air Force team

North Texas + 5.5 was a buy vs the Cadets here with less than ideal either way QB situation and schedule spot . NT to stay close and could win .

Rock bottom stock price for Oregon St. laying a FG vs San Jose St. Beavers win close by 6-10 hopefully .

UNLV laying a few too many to improved Hawaii on the island should be a decent game . Getting the 2 TDS with the home team

Guess who's still playing in week 13?

Dominant win by the Rocks, as expected. Party may be over next week, but they have a better shot to win their game than some other underdogs across the state do.

Berlin pulled off a surprising win despite what had to be 100 yards in penalties. Incredibly ugly game, defensive struggle, everything old time HS football was 20-30 years ago. GL fumbled from the 1 trying to score right before halftime in what likely was the turning point of the game. Taking bets on the site for the next game against Pick North, who crushed Central again, and proved once more how poor Harbin seeding is..

Liberty/UA going to be another classic game, and Wayne coming on at the right time, but have to lean Davidson there as I think their toughness will cause execution problems for Wayne, and their mental problems seem to kick in quickly when things go wrong. Key to that game is to get the lead quickly and hold it.
