D7 R25 2024

Not our regional area, but hide you pets in Springfield. Yikes.

Glad to see the Smithes back. Hilldsdale seems like the team team in the Region. Yes I love the S&^% talking, but Lucas will be there as usual. Just Hope Kennedy can stay strong. However I think we all agree at the end of it, no one is going to hang with the Flyers. At least it'll be a fun ride until then.

Drew still has Lucas beating Amanda-Clearcreek & Calvert, going 7-3 and getting the #9 seed.
I hope he is right. I hope we can improve. We need to stop the bleeding this week.

The Amanda “spread” will narrow between then and now. I can see Lucas possibly being more equipped to beat Calvert. Although Calvert may be more detail-oriented and fundamental than Amanda, this year’s Cubs aren’t equipped to overcome that raw difference of talent to nearly the same extent as Spitler’s teams with Grover, your boy, and the kids who came in the handful of class immediately after.

I think right now that spread/confidence interval is one of those casualties Dr. Pasteur has said can occur this early in the season since he redid some of the computing. Right now it looks like it’s a product of having Hillsdale and Smithville assigned in the ranks of 219 and 355 respectively, compared to Unioto and Adena at 302 and 536. Realistically, there isn’t much of an argument that those losses to competent (but not impressive) D6/D7’s are statistically more influential or informative compared to beating teams of the same general caliber.

I largely agree. The only statement I take issue with is that Hillsdale is not impressive. Who would you say is
the favorite to win R25? Malvern? Monroeville? BCWR? JFK? IMHO, I think Hillsdale is the favorite. For what
it's worth, Drew agrees. To me, that's impressive.

I think Monroeville has to be considered a favorite for this region along with Hillsdale. Their QB is a difference maker and they return a bulk of their team from a successful 2023 season.
I like Monroeville as well. They are right up there near the top, IMO. They are not going to lose a game in the regular season.

The way I see it, there’s probably less than publics in the northeast quadrant for Divisions V-VII that qualify into the “impressive depending by how little you lose category.”

Kirtland
S. Range
Garaway
Garfield (although not this year)
Moggy (although not as daunting as Moggy past, still good)
Ridgewood
NMS
Ashland Crestview (although they appear to be in the G-men boat)
possibly Dalton

[Lucas may or may not be in this legion, but part of the question also pertains as to what is ‘impressive’ in relation to Lucas/any region 25 team.]

I look at Hillsdale similar to the Western Reserve in Huron County — can always be a great win. A good indicator of how you stack up in the region. Losing to them doesn’t tell me anything I didn’t know beforehand.

God, I'd hope not. We shall see. We have key injuries and are very young. What compounds our problems is we do not have much depth.
Lucas just has so many young guys in their skill positions that it’s hurting them. It’s hard to overcome loosing guys like Logan Tom’s and previous running backs and replacing them with some freshman and sophomores with little to no varsity experience. I’m not saying this is a down year but from what i’ve seen this team isn’t the same level as previous lucas teams in any way.
