2024 Pittsburgh Steelers

This will be the 36th game between Steelers led Tomlin & Ravens led Harbaugh (Steelers/Tomlin 20-15).

Tomlin 2007-current
* 180-102-2, 637% regular season
* 8-10, 444% post season
* 1 Super Bowl in 2008
* 1 Super Bowl runner-up in 2010
* 18 seasons; 15 winning, 3 500 & 0 losing record

Harbaugh 2008-current
* 167-102-0, 621% regular season
* 12-10, 545% post season
* 1 Super Bowl in 2012
* 17 seasons; 14 winning, 2 500 & 2 losing record

Two solid franchises, far more similarities than differences between the two and their head coaches.

Sunday’s game will be a true test for the Steelers, we will get to see where they truly are vs one of the leagues better teams (offensively at least). Stopping the run & Henry will be a challenge.

kinda weird to watch a Ravens team where the defense is the worst part of their team.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen has revealed that the Baltimore Ravens didn't offer him a contract when he hit free agency earlier this year.

Queen, who signed a three-year, $41 million deal with the Steelers in March, was selected by the Ravens in the first round of the 2020 draft.
Baltimore declined Queen's fifth-year option last year and opted instead to sign fellow linebacker Roquan Smith to a monster five-year, $100 million contract. When given another opportunity to retain Queen after his Pro Bowl 2023 season, the Ravens passed again.
I wasn't wanted back," Queen said Wednesday, four days before his first meeting against his former team. "I didn't get the offer back, and it is definitely kind upsetting being there for four years and the bond that you grow with your teammates and stuff. The first few months, you definitely go through those feelings.

"Now after playing games, you just go by and just want to win games. You want to win with your teammates, your new teammates; you want to bond with those guys. Everything that you do as far as the organization that you're at now. I will have feelings. Obviously anybody in my position would this week, so I'm just taking one day at a time, whatever happens, happens."

Queen said that he hasn't spoken to Ravens coach John Harbaugh or general manager Eric DeCosta since signing in Pittsburgh but that he still keeps in touch with Baltimore teammates -- although maybe a little less this week.

"The only person I talked to is Roquan," Queen said. "I talked to him last week just so we could talk early in the week because we know we'll both be locked in. Probably not going to get any messages from anybody this week."

After a quiet start to his Steelers career, Queen has been a significant factor in Pittsburgh's recent victories against the New York Giants and Washington Commanders. In Washington, Queen led the Steelers with seven tackles and two run stuffs. Before the bye, Queen recorded eight tackles against the Giants and had one quarterback pressure.

"I just had to look in the mirror and just say I had to get back to myself," Queen said. "I've been getting better these last few weeks. I just got to raise that standard."

At his introductory Pittsburgh news conference in March, Queen expressed excitement about being the next "villain" in the storied Steelers-Ravens rivalry -- and about being somewhere that wanted him.

And although Queen expressed that optimism and readiness to be a Steeler publicly at the time, he said Wednesday that it took him months to process his feelings about not being wanted by the organization that drafted him.

"Probably 'til the end of August, early September," Queen said of how long it took to work through his emotions. "Even though I signed and stuff, you obviously still go through those feelings. Just knowing that a long four years that you put in blood, sweat and tears over there. The guys that you bonded with, build close relationships with, even the training staff to the strength staff, everybody that you built a relationship with.

"You put your body on the line every single time that you went out there, even when you could barely even move your leg or whatever the injury it may have been. Just go out there and try to do your best for that team. I definitely did feel a type of way after the whole situation, but I'm over it now

I thought Queen played his best game as a Steeler last week. If Pittsburgh is going to slow down the Baltimore running game tufts they need Queen flying to the ball.

Today we will see if the Steeler D is truly a Top 5 defense. The Ravens offense is by far their biggest test of the year.

I feel we finish the division 4-2 with losses to the Ratbirds and Bengals.

But that is predicated on a win today.

If it was SNF or.MNF I'd like the chances today

Big win for the Steelers, it is always an accomplishment to beat the Ravens. Just some obvious things:
* can’t kick 6 FG’s and expect to win, got to stick the ball in the endzone
* the rookies showed up. C Frazier was solid, RG McCormick is showing the stage isn’t too big for a 4th rd pick from South Dakota St and ILB Wilson, what a great interception.
* RT Jones. Come on man, the team needs you. No one else to put in, Jones needs to play like a 1st rd draft pick.
* defense played like a Top 5 unit.
* Watt. Teams know he will be over their RT. Just look how every week the offensive formation always has a TE, HBack or extra olineman on the right side. The NYG qb did not send a guy in motion towards Watt which left him 1on1 with the RT and it ended up in a game ending sack. Baltimore actually didn’t block him on one play & it ended up in a 3 yard loss by the RB. Watt makes big plays at timely moments.
* Russell Wilson played ok, just one bad play on the int and I liked Fields coming in…..just know/understand where you gotta go to get the 1st down.

The Steelers can enjoy the moment tonight but they have to get back to work tomorrow for a trip to Cleveland for a Thursday night game. The Browns have nothing to lose, a w vs the Steelers makes their dismal season. Crabcakes has played a good, bad and good game. He can light you up for 300+ yards & 3 td’s, stink the joint up with 3+ turnovers…..or he could do both all in the same game.

Looks like the Steelers got out of the game pretty healthy. Big game Thursday night.

Yeah Fields not knowing the rules on baseball slides needs addressed Pronto
But I've seen others around the league committing the same mistakes

once again, defense is just elite. would love to get a couple of those drives into the endzone but hey, moved the ball into their territory, ate up time which kept our D fresh and kept ball out of Lamar's hands more often, and at least finished with points. if 2 out of those 6 drives end in TD's game is not close at all.

Chiefs lose so only one game back from #1 seed. no hiccups Thursday night, please.

Maybe it's been mentioned........... but if Washington just jumps it's not a interception in the endzone right?

That’s what I thought. If Washington (6’7”, 270 lbs) just drifted back a couple of yards and jumped he would have at least had a chance at blocking down with it.

I guess you can blame Russ for throwing it a bit so athletic receiver.

Trap game.
Coming off a.huge division win.
On the road vs a team we should beat.

I would not be surprised if the Steelers lose. Sux it's on prime..guess ill find out Friday AM who wins

Steelers are 1-3 in their last 4 Thursday games. 0-2 in Cleveland. We definitely need to step it up. Hopefully Steelers Nation takes over Browns Stadium and gives us slight home field advantage. This is the Browns SB at this point so I fully expect them to give it their all.

There certainly is precedent for the Steelers screwing the pooch. Hopefully they learn from the past and don’t sleepwalk Thursday night.

yeah. i'm going into this game with the full expectation that we will find a way to lose and then be pleasantly surprised if we win.

The fact that the Browns are down 2 offensice tackles with TJ Watt and Herbig flying around the edges gives me hope we can create turnovers. Strip sack Winston or force bad throws

Winston can either throw 5 picks, or 500 yards......

Maybe even both...

Jeez you hand-wringing Stiller fans are like nervous old women.

As a Browns fan, I can confidently state that there is about a 3% chance that the Browns win. It only happens if the Browns are like +3 turnover margin. Given that we have no offensive tackles, Jameis back there throwing, and Hopkins missing FGs left and right, it seems really unlikely.

Stadium will be 60% black and gold. another lost year for the Browns...

That’s just what the Voice does, likes to stir the pot. There is some truth to the Steelers underperforming against sub par opponents. Maybe no more or less then other teams but we have tunnel vision where the Steelers are concerned.🏈🤷🏼

Ps…they did lose to the Colts and Cowboys earlier this season.

And they lost to two 2-9 teams Arizona (without Murray) and New England last year in back to back weeks.

It’s the NFL, there is no easy weeks. Browns have nothing to lose, it would be their biggest win of the year, their stadium will be 1/2 filled with Steeler fans and most of them still have something to play for - a NFL job for 2025 season either won’t the Browns or another NFL team. Crabcakes was taken 1st overall, he has talent. Chubb is a pros pro. Garrett can play if he chooses to do so. It’s not like the Steelers have been blowing teams out. It’s a rival and I’d expect the Browns to play their best game of the year.

Just had to add, those 2 losses you reference were also home games.
