2024 Pittsburgh Steelers

this week will be interesting as Tomlin has a pretty good track record vs. rookie QB's. however, JD not really playing like a rookie. the addtion of Lattimore scares me a little but I still think we can pass the ball vs. Was, especially with addition of MW. I don't think he's washed. when you have one-look old Aaron Rodgers as your QB it just doesn't help. if he's healthy he's a huge, deep threat and great RedZone target, especially being opposite of Pickens. Austin may be a WR#4 but he has speed and has shown flashes these last few weeks. open up the middle of the field for PF a little more as well.

i'm excited for this second half. I say we go 12-5. really wish someone would knock off the Chiefs a bit so getting that #1 seed is basically a pipe dream unless Mahomes gets hurt.

I am also excited for this team. But getting a #1 seed is reaching for too much my friend. Let's win some games, get better, and see where we stand if we can get to the playoffs. 12-5 is a tall order but not impossible. I would take 11 and be very very happy. Division games are a crap shoot. I don't care if Clev is down, everyone steps up in div games. But like we said, Tomlin does know how to win them.

Let's show this rookie QB some Steeler football this Sunday.

This team is what I thought...overrated. lucky the Bengals have shitthebed or would be missing the playoffs.
.

7-10 final record

Can we just enjoy where we are .......for a min

Next up Ravens!

So, youre predicting they go 0-8 the rest of the way?
I'm sure that rum dumb is predicting that.

Honestly I'd take 4-4 the rest of the way, if all of the games were competitive. If you told me Pitt would get to 11 wins this season i think everyone would take that. Keep cookin Russ, I'd love to see 12 wins.

I hear what youre saying but I think they can do better. 6 divisional games. Browns are a dysfunctional mess. Its rare that either Cincy or Baltimore sweep us. Kansas City wins even uglier than us. Philly is good but can occasionally throw a clunker in there. Wr havent won in Philly since the LBJ administration.

I'm taking my son Dec 25th to the KC game. The plan is........ KC will be undefeated and the Steelers will beat them.

If youre referring to the fake punt. I was beside myself. However the gunner was open and Killebrew put the ball right there. Did anyone notice the Eagles moved off Pierre - leaving him uncovered?
If he makes the catch we all look at the decision differently
It's not even a coaches decision on a play like that....it's a hot read that every team has if the guy is not.covered. sure..there are times you turn that option off as a coach but at that point...they all did their part but the receiver couldn't do what a HS kid would do.

I blame the.coaches zero on that and 100 % on the gunner.

To CB St Pierre’s credit (the kid who dropped the fake punt pass), he did have a big pass breakup in the 4th qrt.

Guess there was a reason he played DB instead of WR!

Let’s just focus on Baltimore. If you all recall last year the Steelers were something like 6-2 with the Cardinals (without Murray) and NE in back to back weeks. Pit went 0-2 during this stretch.

It’s the NFL, one game at a time.

I see a split with the rat birds and Bengals and sweeping the clowns
..so that is 11 wins and losses to the Swifties and I'll have to look at the rest

KC may have everything wrapped up by Xmas. Mahomes might not even play. I like the Steelers chances if that’s how things play out. What are the chances the game doesn’t mean much to the Steelers either if they are sitting at 13 wins? Lol

I think a lot of credit for today’s w has to go to GM Omar Kahn for the trades for Mike Williams & Preston Smith who each contributed greatly in today’s game.

Three injuries from today are OLB Alex Highsmith (ankle), CB Donte Jackson (hamstring) and RB Harris (foot). Hopefully both will only miss a game or two. The trade for OLB Smith looks really good now as he will probably start next week. OLB Herbig practiced this week so hopefully he can suit up next week. RB’s just take a beating but Harris is almost always available, tough kid. Thankfully Warren looks to be back to last season form and Patterson is back as well.

Tough game next week vs Ravens who will be coming in with a couple of extra days of rest as they played Thursday night. The class of the AFC is obviously KC, Baltimore & Buffalo but I’m staring to think/believe the Steelers are truly in that next tier of teams. Mahomes, Jackson & Allen are tough, just can’t hold them down over a 60 minute game. But with the Steelers starting to put 21+ pts up a game, it gives them a shot.

Next weeks Raven @ Steelers game is a 1pm kickoff. Why all Ravens-Steelers game are not the Sunday Night or Monday Night game is beyond me.

knew this was going to be a tough game. really looked like momentum was gonna shift and we were gonna take the lead until Warren fumbled at the 1. can't happen there but the D stood up and made them punt. the throw from Wilson to MW was so perfect.

I don't see why this team can't be the 2-seed heading into the playoffs.

Ravens D is way below average. Yes, their offense is damn good but our D can slow them down. and now our offense can score right with them if needed.

I still see 12-5 with a chance at the 2-seed.

Tomlin easily should be COY.

I think it is still the case.as.i know.it was in the past but networks can protect an X amount of games in weeks 1- like 15 or so and I presume this is one NBC wanted to keep

Living in Columbus, I am just happy that they are on the schedule. It's usually having to endure the Browns and Bengals.

correct. I think CBS and FOX can both say that they don't want certain games flexed. not sure how many but I think they get a few they can say "no way" to.

From 2023 below........I recall before they could protech like 12 or so per year....

"CBS and Fox enter the new NFL media contract with some new strength. Under the new rules for flex scheduling, CBS and Fox can now protect one game a week to prevent NBC and ESPN from taking one of their glamor matchups. Under the previous contract, CBS and Fox could only protect a small amount of games and they had to choose them early in the season. Now, this allows Sunday afternoon games that are earmarked for the late windows to stay there.

This will be the 36th game between Steelers led Tomlin & Ravens led Harbaugh (Steelers/Tomlin 20-15).

Tomlin 2007-current
* 180-102-2, 637% regular season
* 8-10, 444% post season
* 1 Super Bowl in 2008
* 1 Super Bowl runner-up in 2010
* 18 seasons; 15 winning, 3 500 & 0 losing record

Harbaugh 2008-current
* 167-102-0, 621% regular season
* 12-10, 545% post season
* 1 Super Bowl in 2012
* 17 seasons; 14 winning, 2 500 & 2 losing record

Two solid franchises, far more similarities than differences between the two and their head coaches.

Sunday’s game will be a true test for the Steelers, we will get to see where they truly are vs one of the leagues better teams (offensively at least). Stopping the run & Henry will be a challenge.
