2025 Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers at 6-2 heading into the bye, about as good as could be expected.

Remaining games: @ Was, Bal, @ Cle, @ Cin, Cle, @ Phi, @ Bal, KC, Cin

That’s Daniels, Jackson, Crabcakes, Burrow, Crabcakes, Hurts, Jackson, Mahomes & Burrow. Steelers thus far has faced Cousins, Nix, Herbert, Flacco, Prescott, O’Connell, Rodgers, Jones.

Big difference quality of QB play the Steelers will face moving forward.

The positives:
1) Wilson has looked very good albeit vs 2-6 NYJ and 2-6 NYG.
2) Relative good health. Only starter loss for the season is RG James Daniels who was having a career year.
3) After the bye the Steelers should get back C Zach Frazier, OLB Nick Herbig and RB Patterson. Plus CB Cam Sutton will come off the suspended list.
4) The recent emergence of TE Washington and WR Austin (great game last night) and backup C Ryan McCollum. Could the Steelers keep McCollum at C and move Frazier to RG? RG rookie Mason McCormick had a rough game last night vs the NFL best DT Dexter Lawrence. Regardless, great problem to have some depth in the interior oline.
4) The play of the rookies: C Frazier, RG McCormick, Slot corner Bishop, ILB Wilson. The future looks great for these young players.
5) The play & attitude of Justin Fields. Good kid, he’s just not a top 20 type of nfl qb. His solid play over the first 6 games helped put the Steelers in this position.
6) RB Jaylen Warren seems to be back. A week of rest and I think we will see the Warren of last year at full strength. Very, very good blocker and just an explosive, hard nose runner, he is a difference maker.

The negatives/concerns:
1) Depth at Tackle. RT Jones has played like crap, no other way to say it. LT Moore has played his way into a nice payday at the end of this season as he will be a free agent, great for him.
2) Depth at WR or no one to fill in for George Pickens. Pickens obviously has had a tough time dealing with some adversity or not getting the ball enough over the last two years by pouting, not running hard on his routes when he is not the primary target or not trying to block. Let’s hope Pickens can deal with some success because Russ will throw him 5-10 td’s the rest of the year if both stay healthy. Pickens is that good physically but he’s mentally as tough as a potato chip.
3) Can Russ keep playing like he has for 8 quarters? I think/hope so - we will find out over the next two months.

I do not see any trade for a wr happening. I’d rather see a trade for a swing tackle who could perhaps challenge Jones for playing time.

Get some rest, a good week of practice and onto Washington & rookie qb phenom Jayden Daniels.

Ravens acquire Dionte Johnson from Carolina. I wonder if the Steelers considered reacquiring him? Ravens gave up a middle round draft pick

The trades Johnson & a 6th round pick to Baltimore for a 5th round pick. Plus, Carolina was picking up most of Johnson’s remaining salary for the year.

If Johnson signs as a free agree in the offfseason with someone else, Baltimore could receive a compensatory pick depending on the size of contact.

Great trade for Baltimore

Didnt realize Pittsburgh has won 7 out of the last 8 against the Ravens. Also didnt realize Tyler Huntley has played against us as much as Lamar

Great stat, I didn’t realize the Steelers have that good of a record in the AFC North. Still, it’s going to be a challenge having to face Jackson & Burrow 4 times and a split with Cleveland would not be a shocker. Crabcakes could throw 3 int’s or 3 td’s - both are very possible.

Steeler C Frazier practiced today and hopefully we get back OLB Herbig. And CB Cam Sutton comes off the suspension list.

Onto to Washington to face the Rookie of the Year QB Daniels.

Probably split with Cincy and Baltimore. The Browns got their coffin nail this past weekend.
Lets say 3-3 in the division and 1-2 (Wash, Philly, KC), that is still 10 wins. If we are competitive in all of those games I would take it. If you told me 10-7 this season with EVERYONE (mostly Thavoice) picking them last in the AFC North, I think anyone would love that.

What if we go 3-3 in the North and 2-1........... then the record is 11-6.
What if we can go 4-2 in the division?

I don't think I am throwing out impossible scenarios.

Continue to play like the current team is playing, improve offensively a bit, and all of these things are possible. I would love to see 4-2 in the North and 2-1 in the other games. THAT would be sweet! 12-5. Can we dream?

Hey NO ONE thought the last six games last season would unfold like they did. After weeks 13,14,15 ..................weeks 16,17,18 seemed even more impossible. Look at the QB's we had for those games and still went 3-3.

Steelers trade for NYJ wr Mike Williams for a 5th round pick (Steelers had two 5th rounders in 2025 draft from a previous trade).

It’s a ok deal for the Steelers. Williams plays mostly a boundary wr, same as George Pickens. Good depth move in case of a Pickens injury. Steelers need a slot wr, a guy to move the chains and make the tough catches in the middle of the field. Van Jefferson & Calvin Austin need to continue to improve, they need to be the ones to improve the Steeler passing game.

Honestly, I would consider 3-3 a disappointment at this time. Cleveland is a hot mess, Cincinnati is erratic and we've won 7 out of the last 8 against Baltimore

Fun (ssd) fact. We haven't won @ Philly since 65

Just throwing out worst case scenario tbh. 4-2 would be fantastic. 3-3 but we are competitive would not be the worst thing. The NFL is def nutty sometimes. Look at the Clev win over Balt 2 weeks ago.

Cinci scares me as long as Joey B is playing. Same with Balt and Lamar.

3-3 would be kind of disappointing. The Browns are having a trash season. The Bengals I think will have a strong second half of the year but traditionally we beat them. And Baltimore we’ve gotten the better of more often than not in the Lamar era. 4-2 is pretty reasonable.

Mike Williams is probably washed but I guess it’s worth a 5th to see if Russ can make something work. Being opposite Pickens will help. They really needed Roman Wilson to show up in the slot. I don’t think Calvin Austin is anything more than a #4 return specialist

I posted on here weeks ago that it would be 10-7 for Steelers at worst, in response to Thavoice craziness. Now I'd say 11 wins at worst. Probably 12, assuming the key guys stay healthy.

4-2 in division (sweep my pathetic Browns, split Cincy and Ravens).
1-1 split @ Washington / @ philly
Christmas win at home vs. KC is very possible. KC won't want to be there.

12-5 is not crazy to see.
