I think it’s a smart move by Trump & his campaign. I believe the demographic that watches football would definitely lean towards him, Pennsylvania is the biggest if the battleground states and it’s on national tv with probably 15+ million watching.

A few thoughts
1. Only 1 game, but Russ is a significant upgrade over Fields. Russ placement of the ball is somethung only Fields can dream
2. 36 carries for 149 yards w/ a banged up o line. Not bad.
3. 3 receivers for the Jets were targeted 9 times. Davante Adams had the least amount of catches and yards of the 3
4. How in the world were the 2-4 Jets , fresh off a HC firing, favored in this game? Yes, Pittsburgh wasnt setting the NFL on fire but they were the home team at 4-2
5. Tomlin still needs to designate somebody on his staff to throw the challenge flag instead of him

I’ll bet Kahn is on the phone for a WR2 stat! We need it! But there were definitely open receivers most of the night. The use of the TE’s in the passing game was great! Glad Russ knocked off the rust. He showed his skill to read a defense. 31 unanswered points OMG I haven’t seen that in years! It’s one game but and let’s hope we can keep the arrow pointing upwards!
just so sick and tired of hearing about Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. like someone above said "How the f$%& were these guys favored against us?"
it's unreal. completely dominant second half on both sides of the ball. won the turnover battle because Russ doesn't do what Rodgers does, which is force some throws into tight windows that aren't there.
run game still has a ton of work to do and our offense inside the 5 yard line is abysmal. 37 points or not, I don't understand how do you don't have a package of plays for inside the 5 yard line where Fields comes in at QB. you can't just line up Najee behind Russ under center and expect the line we have to win the battle at the LOS. they're just not good enough to do that. Put JF in shotgun, run an RPO so someone has to account for Fields. otherwise, it's basically 11 on 10.

Cousins, Nix, Herbert, O’Connell & Rodgers.

These are the 5 QB’s who the the Steelers beat & the 2 QB’s they lost to. Cousins was playing his 1st game back from injury & on a new team, Herbert was dinged up before the game & didn’t finish, Rogers is nearing the end of a great career but he’s no where close to the QB he was.
Steelers are still a long ways from competing in the playoffs against the likes of a Mahomes, Allen, Burrow or Jackson. The season could easily go off the rails at any time due to injuries. The Steelers margin of error for victory is extremely thin.
Wilson looked good but most of the NYJ DB’s were on the practice squad a couple of weeks ago and were only playing because of a rash of injuries.
Let’s just pump the breaks and get ready for the New York Football Giants on MNF.
you don't need to downplay the record based on opponents or QB's. Mahomes may be 6-0 but they are a couple plays away from being 5-1 or even 4-2. they should have lost to the Bengals but got a BS interference call that should have ended the game. their player PUNCHED a dude in the helmet in yesterday's game and the guy who got punched got the flag for the personal foul - NO FLAG on the Chiefs guy. Mahomes and the Chiefs are so protected by the league it's not even funny. Mahomes has actually been a BOTTOM 10 QB this year if you look at his stats. Chiefs D is why they're 6-0, plain and simple.
this team is elite right now, especially on D and special teams, and their offense is starting to find its form. it will take Russell some time but he looked like he settled in nicely by 2nd quarter.

I don’t want either of them. I’ve heard maybe Romeo Doubs in Green Bay could be available. He’s in the last year of his rookie contract and having a hard time finding a place in that offense. This is what I read so don’t think these are my words. He could be a cheaper option and younger. I’ve also heard Christian Kirk and Garret Wilson too but I have my doubts on those two being available. Mike Williams and D-Hop aren’t guys that can create separation which is what we need.
Doubs just got 10 targets last game so I don't think he's having a hard time finding a place in the offense.
No way Jets trade Wilson. Kirk is interesting. and Williams and DHop are both big targets who know how to get open and would be great to have in the RedZone as well.
most likely we aren't making any moves anyway, so, it's like a cow's opinion. it's moo.

Kupp is 31 and has 2 years left on his current deal.
2024 - $29.78 mil cap hit - has $14 mil in guaranteed $$$ left on his contract for this year.
2025 - $29.78 mil cap hit
2026 - $27.3 mil cap hit, $19.85 mil cap saving if cut w/post June 1st designation
Basically. It would be a 2 year rental, 2024 & 2025 season and then Kupp probably is a cap casualty in 2026 w/ $7 mil in dead cap space. Is Kupp worth a 2nd rounder, no I do not believe so. Maybe a 4th rounder that converts to a 3rd based on playing time - I’d be ok with. Kupp has been dinged up the last two seasons and he’s on the wrong side of 30. Maybe the best thing he could do is be an example of how to conduct oneself as a NFL professional wr for one George Pickens.

Lets see, 2 weeks in a row over 400 yards in offense. 31.5 PPG w/ Wilson at QB. We will never be the Greatest Shoe in Turf. But its effective and were not going 3 & out 75% of the time
I was more concerned about how we got gashed in the run game on D so much. that needs to be shored up when we face Chubb, Henry, etc.
the offense looks better each week. stupid penalty takes away Pickens TD and then i'm just not sure how one foot down TWICE isn't two feet down but whatever.
6-2 at the bye. if you said that's where we'd be heading into the bye at start of season every single person on here would say you're nuts.

lol. just 2-3 weeks ago you said 6-11 was best possible record. Go back and delete some old posts and you can be the "brian1227" of the Steelers thread.
Sorry to inform you, this is a pretty good football team. You won;t have 300 yard passing days very often, and it won;t be exciting offense very often, but this is a winning football team with a winning coach.

That was news to me RE that rule and the more I think about it.....it has to.be in place to prevent a completion on a toe drag...where maybe the same foot drags a little...comes.off the ground...and drags again hence same.foot hitting twice?
I could see the rule getting changed to allow.what happened last night but prevent a scenario like I just explained

Your explanation makes sense but it was an absolute fluke happening. It may be another 20+ years before any of us see a play like that again. Now we all know it’s two feet or a foot & a body part.
I’m ok with the current rule, just never thought or saw the two sane foot tap before. Crazy play.
