2025 Pittsburgh Steelers

That’s 100% true. No team would call QB sweep with their QB of the future. You do not see Baltimore, Buffalo, Washington or Chicago running that type of play with their franchise QB. Of course those guys are getting paid a whole lot more and their teams have far more invested in them than what the Steelers have with Fieids.

Again Fieids is a good kid and can make a lot of $$$ being a solid backup in the BFL over the next decade. He’s just not a top 24 type NFL QB.
I agree with what you are saying. I would just like to see him with an intact line and the receivers that some of these other teams have.

Pickens has had a piss poor attitude since at least his Georgia days, likely well before that. I thought the Steelers would be one of the better spots for him to land but then I realized they’ve had issues with other WRs in the recent past that can’t seem to fall in line - A.B. and to a lesser extent Claypool

As I watched the above video I got that Chase Claypool vibe. Tomlin will spout the company line in public, but Im willing to bet its different in private. If he keeps this up he will not finish the year in the Steel City

Disagree.....MT is notoriously weak when it comes to ensuring his talent puts out..Bell and many a receiver just do whatever the hell they want.

Some could.say.the same when he was on Chicago. At some point a QB has to put out even on less than perfect situations.

Good call, I forgot about Bell as well somehow

Martavis Bryant...Antonio Brown...Dionte Johnson...George Pickens...

The Steelers have had a real run of head case receivers.

It really makes you appreciate a guy like Hines Ward who came to work and played hard every day.

I never saw JuJu and the same type of head case as the others. My favorite JuJu moment was when he went trick or treating in his Steelers uniform.

I agree regarding JuJu. The others: Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, Chase Claypool, Dionta Johnson and now sadly George Pickens - they each had success in Oittsburgh and basically bombed after leaving. Each were extremely selfish and more a me first vs team first type of individual. Brown was extremely hard working, a perfectionist at his craft and a HOF caliber producer but if he didn’t get his stats he was pouting regardless if the team team won.

Juju was young and immature, he was only 20 his first year in Pittsburgh. Yes he did stupid things and was way too involved with social media. However, his last season in Pittsburgh playing on his last year of his contract he got hurt early in the season and missed the remainder of the regular season. Schuster continues to rehab in order to possibly play in the post season because he wanted to play & be there for Roethlisberger’s last season if the Steelers did in fact make the playoffs. The Steelers did and got knocked out in the 1st td by KC but Schlister did play. Playing did not help him in free agency and he could have easily came back too early and hurt himself even more. I respect Schuster for this and I believe this takes him out of the class of the other players mentioned

They are what we thought they were....a .500.team.

Unless RW can light something...this team won't do any better than 9-8

Glad they won but despite 32 points this offense is awful. Are receivers ever open? The QB holds the ball too long. Smiths play calling is predictable. I really think 9-8 is the ceiling but I really want to be wrong.

Didn't ya read Pickens eye black last week...he is always open.

We have what...1 rushing TD from a non qb?

Smoke and mirros but hey.....4-2 is 4-2....I still see Baltimore winning the division and If the Bengals win tonite I still think they finish 2nd.

Clowns get chubb back so they can go on a winning streak...

That was a horrible performance by the Raiders. The Steelers did not look ‘good’, the Raiders looked like crap. Watt is still an incredible player, it was great to see RB Warren back and I’m hoping the rookie C Fraser is ok.

Steelers have the Jets & Giants at home over the next two weeks, 2 games vs the Browns, and I’m guessing the will find a way to split vs either Baltimore or Cincy. Assume the Steelers will have a tough time vs Washington, Philly and KC. 9 wins seems like a stretch but doable.

I think Fields has been nothing but a professional & classy but the reality is he’s a Top 24-40 NFL qb. Great as your backup but limited as your starter. Last two games are what he truly is. Let’s kick the tires on Russel Wilson & see if he has anything left in the tank. It’s unlikely but let’s see if lightning can strike kinda like Flacco did last year with Cleveland.

A win is a win in the NFL but it’s vs Aiden O’Connel under center for a terrible Raiders team. Onto a home game vs the Jets & Aaron Rodgers.

man, reading the comments on here you'd think we lost the game and the season was over. good lord it's grim and depressing on here.

It’s not grim, the Steelers are playing well considering the heavy injuries to OLB and the Oline. I really like the young talent on the roster, the last two drafts have been very good. The Steelers are close to being a contender with the exception of the most important piece - QB.

Seriously, how many NFL teams do you think the Steelers would have beaten yesterday given how they played? Fortunately the Steelers were playing the Raiders who looked horrible and within 2 years the QB O’Connel will not be in the league. It’s the realistic view.

On a positive note it was seven scoring drives. The most the Steelers have had in a long time. Najee had his first 100 yd game of the year.

But thats just it. Pittsburgh makes a lot of teams look terrible. We made Atlanta and Kirk Cousins look like it was gonna be a Long season for them. Now they're 4-2 and Cousin is playing serious ball. Chargers are 3-2 and Denver, despite Bo Nix with Tebow type numbers, aren't an easy out.
For the past several seasons the Steelers win fugly. Not only do we share the same uniforms as Iowa, we also share their game plan ( unfortunately)

Nailed it.

I know the offense is frustrating for you Stillers fans. But I can tell you as a 50+ year fan of the Browns that your organization is the envy of most of the league. You just consistently win. Every year you have a team worth rooting for. Tomlin is a great coach, as were all of his predecessors. Tomlin gets a bunch of hard nosed guys believing in the approach, and he wins. Period. Enjoy it.

Rookie C Zach Frazer will miss the next two games and hopefully come back in week 10 after the Steelers bye in week 9.

Nice article on his replacement Ryan McCollum who filled in nicely last week and will be making his 2nd career start Sunday night.

I can't imagine any other offensive line in the league having as many injuries as we've had. this will be our 3rd center. Frazier wasn't even the projected starter.

I think Frazier would have beaten out Herbig by the start of the season, he is simply too good.

The rookie first rd pick they were hoping would take over as the starting RT so they could move Jones to LT and eventually replace Moore who will be a free agent at the end of this season. Moore has actually played pretty well.

The rookie G McCormick has filled in nicely and will be the starter at RG for the rest of the year for Daniels who was having his best season ever, it’s a big loss. Daniels will be a FA after this year as well.

To get 2 starting quality olinemen out of one draft with your 1st rounder possibly/hopefully being the 3rd starter - the oline is in good shape for the future. It will be a positive to entice a vet QB to come in this off-season or to draft a rookie qb and let them develop behind.

A lot of pieces in place and cap space available for a big run….just missing the most important piece = QB. I love how Fiekds has come in and been nothing but a great teammate & professional but he is what he is, a top 25-40 NFL qb.

As a Steelers fan I am willing to go with whatever Tomlin decides on QB. I am not unhappy with Fields (10 total TDs) or the team record this season. However I think we need to see what we have with Russ. I am a bit concerned with the WR group and is it good enough to allow Russ to operate.

NYJ defense is 2nd in the league against the pass 148.0 yds per game. But I am not sure they have faced the greatest QBs. They are 17th against the run at 124 yd per game.

Not thrilled about D.Adams going to NYJ THIS week.

Good thing is NYJ’s slot corner is out and their starting CB opposite to Gardner is questionable to play.

Steelers will have Edge LB Alex Highsmith back.

I think/hope Freiermuth will become more involved if Russ plays. Rookie wr Wilson is questionable with a hamstring strain.

Ugly up the game and let TJ Watt get after a not so mobile Aaron Rodgers. CB Porter needs to get out of his funk and have a big games as well.
