The last time a St. Edward varsity Eagle threw a perfect game was Jaret Edwards in 2016. Edwards struck out all 15 batters he faced. The game was called after five innings, the Eagles leading 10-0 in a sectional championship game against John Marshall inside Hough’s League Park.
Since then, Joe Horoszko and Logan Wiggenhorn threw no-hitters in 2019, and 2018, respectively.
Mark Mohnickey caught Edwards’, Dom Hoty Wiggenhorn’s and Conor O’Malley Horoszko’s.
Catching for Slaby was Jack Laux.
Supporting Slaby were Brady Page and Brady Barker with two hits each, and all the fielders who did not make an error.
Barker stole three bases, Grant Lashutka two, and Page, Drew Mahle, and Nick Variglotti one each.
Out of 86 pitches thrown by Slaby 61 were strikes.
