It seems like much or most of the tournament talk is on this thread and not a dedicated thread, so I'll throw this out. I believe since we've all agreed that it makes perfect sense to compare this PSU team to teams from decades ago ( :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: ), will PSU break the record and be declared the NCAA GOAT? Right now, if you plug in their projected scores based on seeding, they're at 131.5, about 39 pts behind IOWA's 170 in 1997, or 40 behind MP's new math that adds 1.5 to get to 171.5. I declared that the over/under bid on bonus pts for PSU would be 30. This gets their 131.5 to ~161.5. Then you have the Starocci factor. His 9 seed could be an extra 18 pts if he were to win it putting them at 149.5 + bonus pts or ~179.5, somewhat above IOWA's 171.5. Like any NCAA, a lot could go right or wrong for PSU when they hit the mats. Time will tell.

I think if you believe in Starocci, you believe the points record could fall. Honestly, I have my doubts about someone who couldn't wrestle two weeks ago now being able to beat Mekhi Lewis in the quarters, but Carter is such an incredibly smart wrestler he may be able to pull it off.

Here's my next question- Penn State, 10 All-Americans?

That's if you believe he truly couldn't wrestle 2 weeks ago. I have my doubts about that. He wanted to go.

Nagao PSU 133 gets taken down 4x and loses by MD to 23 seed. I had him as a pick early on but changed it.

Penn St has their 2nd top 10 seed lose. Also their 125 may have a badly injured hand, couldn't even take his own headgear off after the match
