Dearwester only has 1 loss in girls division & that was to Olivia Shore. I believe it was Chloe’s freshman year?

I don't believe either of them have lost to an OH girl -- and I don't think either have lost to a girl in folkstyle in their career.

That's insane to me that the girls regionals had that much even distribution of Champs, Placers, 0-2 Girls, etc. Shows even more of the parity their currently is in the Girls Division

So that would make Isaac the first 4x undefeated state champion in Ohio History (Boys or Girls)?

It's pretty incredible when you compare these numbers to last year's state tournament
2024- 51 wrestlers with 50+ matches
2023- 2 wrestlers with 50+ matches

Or was Alaina Jackson (Minerva 235) also undefeated all 4 years? Wish there were records on Track for 2020, 2021, 2022 state tournaments. Maybe whomever did the seeding for those tournaments would know?

Here's what I've found as far as Savannah Isaac's high school record

According to this article she is 83-0 for her high school career. Also said she had 18 wins against boys but my guess is they're not included in this total.

Senior- 35-0
Junior- 28-0
Sophomore- 6-0 (Matches from OHSWCA Regional & State)
Freshman- 7-0 (Matches from OHSWCA Regional & State)

That accounts for 76 of her high school matches. So I'm guessing the other 7 matches were spread over her Freshman and Sophomore seasons while she most likely wrestled boys the other times since there weren't very many girls events at the time and the upperweights were even less populated.

Alaina Jackson lost one or two matches as a freshman. I feel like she went back and forth with a senior. Will explore.

You can’t find track from back then because it wasn’t ohsaa sanctioned, so really the most anyone can have is 2x state champ, the others were coaches association and had no qualifying .

2021 and 2022 had qualifying tournaments

2020 was an “open”. All run by Ohswca.

Ohsaa has always counted records and results from sports that followed their specific guidelines prior to adoption as sanctioned sports. It’s not a girls wrestling thing. They did it with boys and girls lax, hockey, bowling, boys volleyball and more.

There’s precedent across the board, so Jackson and Snyder are 4 xers.

The 2020, 2021, 2022 girls tournaments are all on Track. On some Track tournaments you can view seeding info under "information" and they will sometimes have wrestlers records. But there are no records listed for the competitors. Unless I'm a dummy and can't find them.

They did seeding for the 2020 open state tournament and the Regionals in 2021 & 2022. So coaches had to send records and seeding criteria to someone. Whomever those were sent to would have the records of those individuals. Those tournaments aren't that long ago so it would be nice to not lose that information for records purposes.

The first year OHSAA ran the Girls state there seemed to be some hesitancy to recognize OHSWCA state champions in the same as OHSAA state champions.

This year that hesitancy seemed to be gone. They had the 4xers of Jackson and Snyder listed in the program and the 3x and 2x champs just like the boys lists. I was happy to see that.

Dom DiSabato was the tournament director for the OHSWCA State Tournaments. Gary Kanaga ran track for the tournament.

You know what is great about boys wrestling ?
Girls dodge girls constantly
Did David Taylor dodge anyone.
Nope laid it on the line. Wrestled the best went up and down

Girls not like that. Why didn’t craft chase Dearwester? Fear I bet.

Afraid to lay it on the line would rather chase freshman.

I think you chase that match that means something regardless of outcome.

Chase greatness
That’s Courage !!

We've got another Troll. Or is that you- WishYouWereHere? Have a couple of screen names to bash girls wrestling?

I agree...This is an absolutely ridiculous statement. If he/she knew anything about these ladies, he would know that they travel all around the state and country to seek out the best competition. Totally classless to associate those names with his/her pathetic post.

Why give up the chance at being a 4xer to potentially take that shot from the other. They both could have got that match before state! Neither wanted it, but those freshman aren't backing down either. Next year will be interesting
