I was with you until this line. You can’t perma-ban someone for a single mistake like this.
People should stop committing illegal acts because it's "THE RIGHT THING TO DO"!For those that are of the opinion that reffing/officiating is challenging/hard to do/difficult/not easy/etc...I concur. However, making the right and proper call in this situation is none of these.
Everyone that has good vision knows that the shot should have counted...No question. Everyone in attendance knows that...Anyone that watches video of the final shot knows this as well.
The final result is clearly tainted and the declared winning team should do the right thing and not claim the win. They, and everyone else, knows that the win was not legitimate. How can this team, with a clear conscience, proceed on knowing this?
The referees involved should never again be permitted to officiate a game higher than the middle school level and the governing body of high school athletics in New Jersey really needs to come out of the dark ages pertaining to its bylaws/rules.
