100%, if you have a big dog and very good team around him, they win very often over great well rounded teams like Elder. And Taggert is a beast.

A regional #1 losing in the first round probably hasn't happened in a very long time, maybe ever. Not sure about that, but it would have been historically bad. I assume there were some mitigating circumstances in that match.

So essentially it was Senior Night. X has a very good chance of going for three in a row if they win this year. Taggert is a monster.

Taggert only played 2 sets. Likely 1 and 4. It's a meaningless match so the 2nd string got some varsity reps. I think X does that somewhat often, and they let it ride even if it gets close.

And I feel like I should add for the record, incredible job by Bill Ferris and his staff. Taggert was on the right to begin the year(I assume because of his youth and passing prowess). They got him together and ready for the big show. I don't even know Ferris well at all, but that guy gets way...

Same goes for Taggert. He was the difference in the X-Liberty match. Essentially unstoppable by a great team as a Sophomore. I'm not well versed in X's pipeline, but GCL South schools always backfill with quality guys to surround a potential superstar in Taggert.

I believe the all-region and all-state teams are not affiliated with the OHSAA. They are part of the coaches association. After the OHSBVA website went offline, there's no where to post them. It is a shame.

I'm not sure where these are released any more. It's not affiliated with the OHSAA and the other website from the old days is gone.
