Gas Prices Rising Again

Every time I bring up oil my son reminds me oil prices are based on a world market and just because we are oil independent does not mean we will pay lower prices and I always answer yes that is true , but then I point out at least we do not have to buy from countries and leaders that wish us dead or worse.

We have not destroyed it. We have increased production. Further, the fact that we were a net exporter it had no impact on our need to beg the Arabs. Not only did Trump beg them, he strong armed them into cutting production.

It does not matter where it goes. It's not like we have a shortage. The US has the oil it needs. It is simply a case of the global demand and how that affects the price.

You can try and spin this nonsense anyway you want, but I see better than I hear. And what I saw 19 months was Gasoline at $2.31 a gallon, and Natural Gas was half what it is now. In addition to destroying our Energy Independence, you Leftist's destroyed thousands and thousands of jobs related to Energy Production. These weren't no $12-$15 an hour jobs. Those cats working in the oil fields were making bank, plus all the transporters, marketers, and bean counters. You Leftist's crippled an entire industry, the key industry in our country, and can't figure out why inflation, worker participation, and GDP are ALL out of control. If you had to pay to heat your house this winter things might become a tad clearer for ya.....

Trump colluded withthe Saudis, OPEC+ to cause the biggest-ever cut in oil production (9.7M barrels per day) to raise gas prices (that went negative in pandemic), leading to 8% of US refineries' permanent closure. It's STILL elevating gas prices.

WELL, this is a game changer!!!! You didn't tell me that Orange SOB posted a tweet. That's different. Sooooo, the reason I am paying $3.99 a gallon instead of $2.31, and my natural gas is now twice as expensive is because of this tweet. It's not the fact that the Leftists in charge have turned the process of getting a drilling permit into brain surgery. No drilling on Federal Land, which they continue to buy up to fulfill their agenda. With the Leftists in charge our booming fracking industry has been regulated into oblivion. And the big, big one, the money lenders and venture capitalists have been put on notice that if they deal with the gas and oil speculators the SEC will be so far up their arse they'll need permission to take a dump. And, and, and it wasn't President Numbnuts letting the cat out of the bag when he said "Listen to me, we are gonna' end fossil fuels" Noooooo, it was a freakin' tweet from two and a half years ago that caused all this. I feel so I'll informed.....

So OPEC decides to cut production now in a time when oil prices and demand are rising and it's Trump's fault because he brokered a plan in 2020 to cut oil production at a time when oil prices and demand were tanking?

Not even the main stream media can come up that one ! (well, except maybe "The View" :ROFLMAO:)

It’s none of the BS you just posted. Oil companies are still getting permits. They are currently drilling on Federal land. In fact, the US is producing more oil every day today than we were when Biden took office. Those are the facts.

Gas is where it is today, because we had the biggest production cuts in the history of this country in 2020. Refineries were taken off line and people were laid off. Prices dropped accordingly. To make matters worse, Trump then threatened the Saudis with pulling military support unless they cut production too. Trump wanted to raise prices and he needed Saudi cooperation to do it.

You are clueless.

Oil demand has decreased in the last couple of months and is likely to continue to decrease. If this administration was smart they would offer to buy 2 million BPD (above current production)from American producers to refill the Strategic Reserve. In exchange for a guaranteed price and market (selling to the SR at say $90 barrel) they also must increase another 2 million BPD to offset the OPEC cuts. That's a 4 million BPD increase. Offer the industry some low interest loans to kick start the process.

This would refill the reserve at a price lower than what it was sold for and take market share away from OPEC while removing uncertainty in the oil market for US producers. It would also drive down the cost of gasoline and other products in the US. It would also help keep world oil prices down.

Of course he wanted to raise prices. The Saudi’s and Russians were in an all out war on American Shale at the same time that COVID hit and demand plummeted sending oil into negative pricing.
