There honestly should be …Coaching across the board Is not what it used to be.So many programs have to rely on youth coaches and other guys with no experience due to the lack of teaching jobs available in some districts. The majority of these guys have their hearts in the right places but they just don’t know enough about football,Have any experience, know how to work with student athletes, or how to run a successful program…This is especially true in the public schools in some of our larger cities. I do not see the commitment from school boards across the state that we once had in Ohio. I know a lot of quality head coaches in Ohio that do not have one single Assistant coach that are Teachers in their building. Many times the Head coach is only as good as the assistants That he surrounds himself with.

Coaching has completely changed in the last 15 years or so and has become a year round gig, its hard for a 30 something with a family to give up that much time for a 5000k stipend. At a lot of places you may get two weeks off during the summer with no commitments. Its just not worth it,
