While all winning streaks are special, at least for the team that holds them, they all come to an end. Just to put things into perspective for my fellow Centerville fans...During their 45 game run, the Elks defeated 2 State Champions... 2022 Akron St. Vincent ( 25-4) and 2022 Blue Ridge W. Virginia (30-5). They also defeated 2021 State Runner-up Westerville Central (23-3), 2021 State #2 ranked Cin. Moeller (18-5), 2021 State #3 ranked Mentor (26-1), 2022 #10 Nationally ranked So. Cal Academy (24-4), 2022 #9 ranked Huntington St. Joseph, W. Va., 2022 Ohio #9 ranked Fairfield (19-5), 2021 Ohio #11 ranked Olentangy Liberty and 2022 Ohio #12 ranked Kettering Fairmont (21-4). Their 2 losses, one to begin the streak and the one to end it...were both to that year's State Champions...DII Akron St. Vincent and DI Pickerington Central. So...If you,ve got to begin and end a streak... it might as well be to the best.
Incidently, they beat Pickerington Central during the 2021 regular season, a fact I had forgotten. Guess Pickerington got their revenge...
