Long time ago, left-handed people were shunned and forced how to be right-handed. As that position changed and people didn't care whether you were left or right-handed. The number of self-professed left-handed people rose. But many older lefties, had been so ingrained they were right-handed, wouldn't even consider the idea of switching hands. Eventually until it reached about the 10% it is today and never went any higher than that.

If trans/gay/etc were a growing 'problem' ... then lefthandedness surely would be taking over society by now. And yet, it's still at about the 10% it's been since I was a kid.
