Ran across the below article on Jakob James, his spot on the OSU OL 2 deep this year, increased playing time this year, and his versatility to play either guard spot and center. I thought it would be good to have a thread for articles likes this, updates on awards/achievements, etc.

This article is an overview of OSU’s TE room in general but it sounds like Joe Royer is in line a big year at OSU, at least in terms of playing time.
Royer is the best all-around tight end of the bunch and is the mostly likely to trot out with the starters when the Buckeyes take the field for the first time against Notre Dame on Sept. 3. According to Wilson, Royer came into spring in excellent shape after gaining 20 pounds of good weight since he enrolled as a freshman. Then Royer played very well in the spring, taking all of his reps with the first-team offense. The product of Cincinnati Elder was ranked as the No. 14 TE and the No. 9 prospect from Ohio in the 2020 class, per the 247Sports Composite.

First class young man. I like to see that he is comfortable to stay at Ohio State and work for his opportunity to get on the field. You don’t see that much these days in college sports.

I think Royer will have an outstanding year and will get a shot to play on Sundays. I definitely commend James for being willing to work hard and wait his turn! All Players obviously want to play but sometimes at the big time Schools, big time players don’t ever get a shot. See Joe Burrow at Ohio State. James willingness to wait will pay off for him in the long run.

No idea on the NFL, hasn’t had much playing time - sat behind first team All ACC Chandler at LG this past year. Chandler returned for 2022 and Kandra will sit behind him again this year. Look for 2023 for Kandra to make a move to the starting line up. From there, anything can happen.
 
Michael Bittner no longer active at Tennessee?
Keyes was c/o of '20 wasn't he?
What school will Menninger be playing at?
 
He’s kind of scumbag and I hate OSU, but I was listening to Zach Smith’s podcast, and he was hyping up Royer. Smith has no filter, which is the appeal imo, so him going out of his way to praise Royer, says a lot.
 
Added Brad Buller to MSJ, Bittner to Tenn and Holmes to Otterbein

Royer and Kandra definitely have a shot to play on Sundays. Have to stay healthy.

2020 football--Connor Keyes and Brady Buller were not 2019

2020 baseball -Kory Klingenbeck not 2019. His brother Kyle @ NKU was 2019
2020 baseball- Zach Williams- Indianapolis not 2019
2022 baseball- Kellen Sandhas not 2020. His brother Colton was 2020 but chose football @ Thomas More

2020 had quite a class.
 
I saw Whitmer got an offer from Delta St. If you’re wondering why a D2 school in Mississippi recruits so heavily in the area, Delta St’s HC used to be the HC at Christian Brothers and he’s a Cincy native.

He had some great success recruiting local athletes to Christian Brothers - I would imagine it's going to be much tougher at Delta St.

Didn't you have a receiver a few years ago who played at UC? He was under-sized, but a very good slot receiver. Great router runner and never seemed to drop a pass. He was always open and caught a ton of balls. I'd know his name if I heard it but can't recall.

Kyle Trischler. I think he walked on at UC. But not sure if he was ever on the roster. Maybe played a year? Probably a similar situation to Ramsey where he committed as a walk on but ultimately decided to go the student route.
