Ladies and gentlemen, fans of the NBC, and my fellow pick 'em enthusiasts,
First and foremost, let me say it feels
so good to stand here as your 2024 NBC pick 'em champion... again. I’d like to thank my brain for knowing football, my gut for feeling the upsets, and Oak Harbor for making this so incredibly easy week after week. Honestly, picking Oak Harbor felt like cheating—but hey, you can't argue with dominance!
On the flip side, I’d like to extend a special shoutout to Rossford, who graciously made my decisions equally as easy on the other end of the spectrum. You know it’s bad when picking against them feels like a free square on a bingo card.
Let’s talk about Otsego, Genoa, and Lake. Picking them felt like playing darts blindfolded—they’d crush one team one week and then trip over their own shoelaces the next. Trying to figure them out was harder than deciphering a Fostoria playbook.
Speaking of surprises, let’s take a moment to acknowledge Fostoria. I mean, they weren’t world-beaters, but they exceeded expectations. They went from being the joke to saying, “Hey, stop laughing so hard!” Well done, Fostoria—credit where it’s due.
And how about Coach Karchner? I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again:
state coach of the year. Let’s make it happen, folks. The guy deserves a plaque, a parade, and maybe even free coffee for life in Maumee.
Now, to the elephant in the room:
Where are all the Eastwood fans? Seriously, they used to be everywhere—online, at the games, probably even in my backyard—but now, it’s like they’ve gone into witness protection. Come on, Eastwood, don’t be shy.
Finally, a heartfelt thanks to all my haters. You doubted me, accused me of cooking the books, and probably swore I had an insider connection to the refs. But here I stand, victorious and as innocent as a Friday night hot dog at the concession stand. Your disbelief only made this win sweeter.
So, thank you all for playing, supporting, and giving me the motivation to crush this contest. I’ll see you next season—until then, don’t forget: Oak Harbor
still (sans the last drive against LC) looks good, Rossford needs a miracle, and Fostoria? Well, they’re not half bad.
@Plobtz, thanks for putting this together.
Goodnight, or morning,
NBC Nation!
