Max Byrd makes finals at State 119 lbs

Max Byrd made it to the finals tonite of the state wrestling tournament with a 3 to 2 win over John Dillon from Youngstown Boardman. Dillon was the projected champ (Brakeman Report).

Max will wrestle for a state title tomorrow against Dean Heil from St. Edward tomorrow nite (Sat). Heil is a returning state champ & was picked 2nd in the state by the same rankings for this year (Brakeman report)...let's hope this rings true :)
The finals start tomorrow night at 5:45 pm.

Great job Max!!

Max Byrd lost in the state finals today, score of 7-2 to Dean Heil of St. Edward. Heil is now a 2 time state champ and only a sophomore.

CONGRATS Max on a FINE season and for making becoming a 3 time state placer in your junior year. Does anyone know what Max's season and career records are?
