Dowling Catholic, WDM (11-1) vs. Iowa City, West (10-2) – 7:06 PM

I attended three of the six title games in 2014. And last year saw the twelve semifinals in 2015 (which are also all played at the UNI-Dome).

One oddity of Iowa is their classifications. They are:

4A, 3A, 2A, 1A, A, and 8-Player.

I still don't understand the difference between A and 1A, but they have it setup like that. Schools small enough for 8-Player can play as 11-man Class A. Schools bigger than 8-Player can play 8-Player, but just are ineligible for the playoffs. That does happen if participation is low but the school is bigger than the cutoff.
