Liberty Center vs Oak Harbor

I've been looking forward to this matchup all year. If Liberty Center is able to play a disciplined game, they should win. However, they won't be able to get away with committing much in the way of penalties as Oak Harbor is both physical and good enough to capitalize. Last year this game wasn't even close, but I believe OH is a better team than they were last year. I also don't think LC is what they were last year. I think this is a toss up and I'm looking forward to a physical game!

Always entertaining to watch children argue. As for the game, I have LC by a slim margin, but if Oak Harbor scouts the Benton game, LC might be in trouble. Short pass game killed them. Liberty Benton had LC on their heels the whole game, just had too many turnovers. Great game plan by Liberty Benton Coach.
i dont think oak harbor should scout the previous game

That’s LC for you they been doing it for years and intentionally hurting people under the pile been there done that i have played against them for 4 yea

Maybe they should not hurt people on purpose to win! Taking out good players to win LC is the most penalized team in the league and i think all of D5 as well
How many classes have gone through highschool without ever beating LC in football as of late?

Liberty Center fairly easily.

LC: 37.
OH: 12.
Drew Pasteur has it at as a 12 point win for LC. I can see that happening. I'd be surprised if it got out of hand this year like it did last. Both have played solid defense all year and both have a questionable close game that would suggest maybe they aren't true contenders. Oak Harbor had a 3 point win over Eastwood. I expected them to dominate that game, but Eastwood is still playing so they're likely better than I gave them credit. However, I went and watched Eastwood last week and their defense was very suspect. Same thing goes for LC. I though they were going to dominate Patrick Henry and they did not. They're also prone to make mistakes and commit a lot of costly penalties. If LC gets a couple of the penalties their know for, I can see OH capitalizing on them.

It is well known among officials they are one of the dirtiest programs in NW Ohio. Extremely talented but they are a dirty bunch.
That’s funny the area official who teaches fundamentals and trains officials is a dear friend and I asked him and this is a total lie! -Coach Casey Mohler tells the officials before the game we play till you blow the whistle. People getting made about lineman pancaking LB/DBs 15 yards down field is not illegal

Every team had close games this year how do you not everyone plays there best. pH still in playoffs Eastwood still in playoffs if it wasn’t for some penalties in the LC PH game that game would have been 35-15 check the stats in that game. Close games also make your team play 4 quarters no one is walking to the state title not having close games

LC defense is suspect?!? They have 7 shutouts...4 games giving up a single touchedown...gave up 15points to PH. Of the 6 touchdowns scored on them this season, I believe only 2 were legit and/or against the starters. They are very good against the run and the db's may be the group that LC had ever had. Giving up 3.5ppg....hardly a suspect defense lol.

Is Mohler mic'd up for the games? Weird that a fan would know what the HC is telling the officials before the game.

Mohler has said in interviews with media that he tells this to the officials before every game.

This is common knowledge amongst the orange and black faithful.

Nice try ......

He didn’t say LC’s defense is bad. In the context he said that Eastwood played Oak Harbor close which he thought was unexpected and that PH played LC close. That’s what he meant by same with LC

Yep, all you gotta do is look up his interviews on YouTube. Common knowledge. I have family going through the program and they confirm it. Playing to the whistle is taught all the way down to the youth level.

PH will always play LC hard, especially on their home turf…we are rivals. Last years blow out was tough because PH lost their star QB the week before. This year LC was plagued with almost 100 yards of penalties. Can’t expect constant consistency from teenagers…sometimes they have bad games.

Oh honestly I think PH is a good team. Final Four good so it’s not shocking to me that the game was tight

Nice try at what? I didn't know that he said that in interviews. I don't follow them like that. I don't think I have ever posted anything negative about the team, the coach or the CB number or anything else that gets you paranoid.
Stop being so damn sensitive/defensive.

Not what I said. @Katmandu2 gets it. Can't believe I just said that. ;)

I mentioned that in my post. The fact is that if LC continues to commit a large number of penalties, they will not be competing for a state title. The top teams will take advantage of that. If they clean it up, they absolutely can compete for a title. The only stat that matters at the end of any game is the score, and despite all the others, the score with PH was close. Those penalty yards played into that.

Nice try on discounting what LC fans know about how their coach and team conduct business. LC fans know as much about their team and it's operations than any other program in the area.

You wanted to question that fans know what Mohler says to officials by throwing out "how do fans know this? Is Mohler mikes up?". Like we don't know what we are talking about.
