Three years ago, the Lancers made a run at the state title losing by three points 44-41 to Cleveland Heights. Can they do it this year? Too early to tell. Season opens next Saturday at La Salle with the Legends Classic II. Lancer legends Doug Bockensttte who led the Lancers to their first ever state title in any sport (1994) along with Chandler Burden who won both throws at state in 2008 when the Lancers won their state runnerup title will be honored at this meet. Go to this meet at La Salle to honor these former state individual champions and to check out the 2011 Lancers to see if they have what it takes to win it all this year.
