i was down there for work last winter y couldn't it have been this year?? o well are any of the games gonna be online so i can watch??

No games online. La Salle only puts home games online. Lancers now 2-0 in tournament. I believe Lancers have won this tourney twice in 2002 and 2006.

Just saw on Twitter that the Lancers defeated University School Nova 46-44 to advance to the final of the Kingdom of the Sun basketball tournament tomorrow.

Go La Salle!

If anybody down there can leave a comment....we were up 18 at the half in this game and won by 2 points---anyone care to tell how this happened...looks like a lot of foul calling, but did we just choke in the 2nd half---10 points is all we scored?? how does the final stack up?:)

GREAT WEBSITE FOR ALL GCL TEAMS: ................. GCLSPORTS.COM

FYI::) :)
CINCINNATI LASALLE 46, UNIVERSITY SCHOOL 44: The Lancers (8-0) saw a 20-point third-quarter lead nearly disappear, but recovered in time to hold off the Suns (8-2).
After Quay Bain’s free throw got University to within 44-42 with 1:44 left, LaSalle was able to get the ball to Brandon Neel, who scored on a layup to push his team’s edge back to four.
From there, the Suns got to within 46-44 on a layup by Kyle Phanord with 12 seconds remaining.
LaSalle’s Ryan Fleming then missed his second one-and-one opportunity of the final minute at the 6.1-second mark and Bain launched the ball to Kyle Phanord, who sprinted towards the 3-point line as time ran down.
Kyle Phanord, though, had two defenders on him and passed the ball to his brother Kevin, who was unable to get a shot off as time expired.
LaSalle used a strong defensive effort in the second quarter to gain the advantage, before University held it to 14 points on 5-of-20 shooting over the final two quarters.
The Lancers held the Suns to a 1-of-6 shooting effort and forced five turnovers on their way to a 16-6 scoring edge during the second quarter.
Josh Lemons scored 14 points of his game-high 20 in the first half to pace LaSalle, which made 4-of-11 shots from 3-point range and 12-of-22 overall during that span.
University was just 4-of-15 during the opening half and turned the ball over 10 times.
The Lancers led 38-18 early in the third quarter, but the Suns closed to 42-31 after three quarters of play and made things interesting down the stretch.
Damien Dwaine led University with 18 points, while Kevin Phanord added 14.
Neel added 12 for the Lancers.

FYI: Dwyer will be a difficult team to beat.....

The “Panthers” are rated as one of the top 3 teams in the sunshine state loaded with size and talent. Coach Fred Ross has led this program compiling a 442-120 record in 19 years and has an overall 510-279 record overall for 23 years of coaching. The Panthers have a 1-2 punch in a pair of multi-talented seniors in 6’4” Jacoby Brissett (15ppg-7.5 rebounds) and Palm Beach county “Player of the year” honors and teammate 6’6” Greg Louis (10ppg-6 rebounds). 6’2” senior guard Terrell Harris (11ppg) will provide leadership while vastly improved 6’9” Jr. Joell James will be a force in the paint. Look for Dwyer to be in the hunt for a 5A state title in March.

something tells me that even though the teams are not ranked, that the tourney officials wanted this game for the final....either way, they have what appears to be the 2 best teams tonight..

GO LANCERS:)

In the end, Palm Beach Gardens Dwyer did what it needed to do in the finals of the 37th Annual Kingdom of the Sun.

All-Tournament TeamMVP: Jacoby Brissett, Dwyer

The Panthers (10-1) denied Cincinnati LaSalle its record-tying third tournament championship with a 53-50 win on Thursday night at Vanguard High School.

Tournament MVP Jacoby Brissett scored eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter and held Dwyer to an 0-of-7 mark from the 3-point arc over the final quarter and gave the state of Florida its second straight Kingdom champion.

Brissett made 6-of-7 free throws in the fourth quarter, including a pair with 8.6 seconds left that forced the Lancers (8-1) to go for a tying 3-pointer.

LaSalle's Josh Lemons had a good look from 3-point range, but the shot was off and Greg Louis grabbed the rebound for Dwyer, as time ran out.

The Lancers, who struggled with an 11-of-19 free throw shooting effort, saw some key misses in the final minutes cut short their comeback.

Ryan Fleming hit 1-of-2 with 1:08 left to pull LaSalle to within 51-49, but the senior had the same mark with a chance to tie with 9.5 seconds remaining.

From there, Brissett, who was scoreless in the first half, knocked down the key free throws and Dwyer emerged with the win.

Brissett finished the tournament with a team-high 68 points to pace his team's award-winners.

Terrell Harris (61 points in the tournament) and Victor Adams (63 points) each earned all-tournament spots for Dwyer.

Harris scored 12 of his 16 points in the first half for Dwyer, while Harris had seven of his 10 points in the third quarter.

Neither player, though, scored in the fourth quarter, as Brissett made the plays and helped save his team from a 2-for-8 shooting effort from the floor over the final eight minutes.

Brissett also finished with six rebounds for the Panthers, who were outrebounded 35-32 by the smaller Panthers.

Trey Casey and Brandon Neel led LaSalle with 12 points each.

Casey had a chance at tying 3-pointer, which hit iron with 23 seconds left, but Fleming (10 points, 11 rebounds) hustled for the loose ball and was fouled and went on to 1-of-2 free throws to pull his team to within two.

Neel and Casey were named to the all-tournament team from LaSalle, while Lemons was named the event's Mr. Hustle.

The loss was the first in three championship game appearances for the Lancers, who claimed titles in 2002 and 2006.

Had the Lancers won, they would have tied Vanguard's mark of three for the most Kingdom titles in the 37-year history of the event.

Instead, they came up just short in a game which saw neither team lead by more than five points.

Great Effort....now onto winning the GCL and State.
