2nd annual Cleveland Guardian Mile will take place on the Hope Memorial Bridge in downtown Cleveland starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday, 8/17. Elite fields will be finalized after USAs, but should be similarly competitive to last year with a $17,000 elite prize purse. HS / youth race had 140 runners last year and should be deeper / more competitive this year. The HS / Youth heat is sponsored by Under Armour, who is also the apparel sponsor (all race t-shirts are tech t-shirts). If it doesn't fit in your team's training program feel free to still bring your runners to the elite Meet and Greet on Friday at the Ohio City Music Settlement or to watch the elite races on Saturday! In addition to Elite and HS / Youth there are also Community and Competitive Masters heats. Sign up and stick around to watch the elites while enjoying Mitchell's Homemade Ice Cream (free for first 500 runners)!

Technically $18k actually as there is a $500 prime for the first runner to the halfway point in both elite races to keep the pace honest. An additional $1k of prize money total in the community and competitive masters heats. World-qualifying Nikki Hiltz and a number of other runners already confirmed for the elite fields, many with Ohio ties (Therese Haiss, Heidi See (wife of Jeff See), etc.).
