Cardinal, former Red, to join the army

Brayan Pena will join the Army reserves this offseason. He is 34 and will likely be 35 when he finishes training.

He can't join the Army Reserves because of his contract. Surprised he didn't know about that before going public with it, but good for him nonetheless.

I had wondered about that. Plus...seeing him play the other night I noticed he would have to lose some LBs to make height/weight!

I don't understand what it meant when it says he will complete his reserve training........... Doesn't make sense. Reservists still have to do Basic/ait just like big army.


I wouldn't call it a waste of time. Likely depends on what his MOS would be that would determine how much he would actually do as a reservists. Some MOS/units don't do much at all, but others are more high tempo and do quite a bit and some are even airborne units.
