Are you a true West Sider??

Folks. these apartments are not just for Mt St Joe students, they are for anyone that wants to rent them. Delhi is trying to attract young
professionals who work downtown and want to live close to downtown.
Also for older people that want to give up their home, but want to stay in Delhi. A lot of false onformation is out there about these apartments.
I think they are going to have a hard time with this. Kentucky is cheaper, many parts are significantly closer to downtown, and has good highway access. Hope they don’t have a hard time, but these aren’t Delhi apartment pricing. That’s pricing for an area that has something to offer than being close to downtown and having some decent but nothing exciting places to eat.

I tend to agree. And how many young professionals can afford those prices?

Most younger white collar workers I know are under paid and have mounds of student loan debt, a car payment they can't actually afford, and crippling credit card debt.

But again, hopefully it will kick off a revitalization of sorts...... as I already said, anything better than empty dilapidated retail buildings.
And those that don’t want to live downtown or Hyde Park/Oakley. Not Delhi.

I find that true as well, which I don't get the Oakley hype. Hyde Park is really nice. Oakley is seriously a dump overall....lots of dilapidated homes.
Oakley has nice apartment/apartment complexes and better entertainment/dining option. The actual suburb part is definitely iffy, though. Hyde Park is just way too expensive as a whole, so it’s a good, cheaper alternative

Zoning changes could be coming soon to the area of South Fairmont near the Lick Run Greenway park.

One zoning change the city is considering involves an area currently zoned for manufacturing-focused buildings and businesses. If approved, things like day cares, restaurants, hotels and retail businesses would be allowed to open up there.

Other proposed zoning changes are more pedestrian-focused, allowing for businesses built closer to the sidewalk, without a parking lot in front.

If these zoning changes happen, you can bet we'll see "traffic calming" measures like what has occurred on Glenway Ave and North Bend Rd in downtown Cheviot.

Traffic calming there would make it take an hour to and from downtown from Westwood.

Why rebuild the viaduct if you're going to "calm traffic"..... Just divert everything down beekman to Hopple or go the other way to he 8th st viaduct.

I actually don’t have a problem with the traffic calming in that area. The issue there is it won’t extend far enough. People consistently drive 50, 60+ mph through there but that extends from the BP on the east end all the way up to at least the UDF/old hospital. You’d think it was the freeway.

But I don’t get this idea of turning it into a super walkable area where businesses like hotels, restaurants, etc can be built close to the road with no parking. Where are these people coming from? There’s like 7 houses along that entire strip. You need residential housing in the area to have a walkable community. No one can walk there if no one lives there. Quebec, Sunset and Harrison are just too stretched along/big of a hill too realistically expect people walk down there.

Speeding used to be controlled by police enforcing the law. I guess those days are gone. Cops don’t like pulling speeders over anymore. Too dangerous I guess. Same reason everyone runs red lights now.

Before I drift away into the sunset The Main Entrance final day will be November 22nd

Wonder where that clientele will drift to?

Drove past The Crows Nest Friday night. They must have been packed. There were cars parked everywhere.
Had dinner at the Nest before the game. They have a new chef and a new menu. We went there after the game to lick our wounds and heard a great band (Flying Under Ground). Great food, great band and they have Little Kings too. Great time and the place was packed.

I'll have to check it out.... thanks for the tip. Crow's Nest always been a solid little spot.

In the Incline District in East Price Hill. It is on Price Ave across from Holy Family. Run by a great family. Terrific food and service. Mexican Bakery and Deli located next store in a connecting building.

Do they sell donuts at the bakery? I went there when they first opened but they weren’t selling donuts then. Still looking for a replacement for St Lawrence Bakery. Anxiously awaiting the reopening of Buzy Bee in Sayler Park under new ownership. I’m keeping my fingers crossed on that one.

Let us know about Bizy Bee, easily the best donuts in Cincy.

Forgot about Veracruz, I haven’t been since I’ve moved back. Heck haven’t been since around when they first opened. Great food, I’ll have to make a return trip here soon.
