Are you a true West Sider??

My wife and I only do a "destination" type dining once or twice a year. That said, we had the chance to dine at The Precinct and The Ivory House within the past two weeks The Precinct was the third time we have eaten there, but, last night's trip to Ivory House was our first. Prices were comparable. The decor at Ivory House was much nicer. The piano at Ivory House was another plus. My wife got the New York Strip at both. I got seafood at Ivory House but, of course, I had to try my wife's steak as well. My wife and I agreed that the steak at Ivory House was as good or a little better than Jeff Ruby's.

We will be going back to Ivory House again in the very near future.

A new ramen placed called Rokaru Ramen looks like it'll be opening on Glenway near Chipotle and Chick-fil-A in the spot formerly occupied by Edible Arrangements. It looks like a local place that currently has one other location in the Kenwood/Blue Ash area.

Saw a post on FB indicating the Hobby Lobby in Western Hills (which moved down the road a few years ago) has a sign in the window indicating "Store Closing".

Incidentally, I was recently up in Liberty Township and that place (do they call it an outdoor mall?) is awesome. I'm sure its been there for a decade but it was my first time. Clean, safe, high-end shops, bars, first-class restaurants, etc. I was very impressed...and jealous.

Looks like All Seasons Tool Rental on Neeb has closed. Anybody know why?
I have always wondered about the management of that place. Never knew when they would be open. Quite often they would be closed on a weekend. How do you not open a tool rental on a weekend? Actually surprised they lasted this long.

I rented from them many times, but I did find it annoying how you'd rent a log splitter or something for the weekend and have to return it by 2pm Sunday.

No sign in Hobby Lobby window. You must be thinking of Tuesday Mornings.

There was never a Rinks across from the Western Hills Plaza where the current Kroger's is. What opened in the early '60s was a place called Ontario Foods and Hardware. The store was housed under one building - half was food and the other half was hardware which later turned in to Central Hardware.

The small key shop (in a little hut) is still there but moved into the strip mall up from JJ's. There also was a car wash in the back of Ontarios facing Glenway Ave. next to a small candy shop (Russell Stovers?).
There most certainly was a Rink's across from Western Hills Plaza. What was originally Ontario's Department Store became Rink's in the early 80's. My mom worked there. In the late 80's or early 90's it became one of those big-box hardware stores. The name escapes me. I think it started with an "F".

Was it Furrow? I remember the building stood where Kroger is today, but I don't think I ever went there.

Yes, I remember Van Luenens in Delhi. It was big and popular along with all the other support stores next to it ex. Pets-n Such, can't remember the other ones.
In the 90's Van Luenens moved to New Port Kentucky. Then it became All about Sports.
China Town wow, now that's going back in time. They had a store on Ferguson Road next to the Drive Inn

Chinatown was in Delhi before Van Luenens. Van Luenens took over the China Town space. Van Luenens also had a hardware/home improvement store down where the Pet Store and The Salvation Army store is now.
