2022 GCL Co-Ed

Vidourek is a dark horse. His glove was unbelievable, wouldn’t count him out especially since Badin probably has the biggest say in who wins due to their success.
Vidourek is definitely their best player but Rawlings being 9-0 is huge for them. Truly cannot go wrong with any of the people discussed on here. Peltier has just had a monster season.

Tough decision no way they go three players

With Peltier leading vidourek in every offensive category I’d say it’d be very questionable for vidourek to get poty unless you’re saying he should replace Rawlings. But if I’m doing 2 players I probably go best hitter and best pitcher

That's what I am thinking, my money is on Peltier, I just wouldn't be in shock if Vidourek gets it.

CJ beat bellbrook 9-8 in extra innings unbelievable game
CJ was down 0-2 in the 4th when Peltier hit a 3run hr to take the lead. Bellbrook took lead back in the 7th which CJ tied up in the bottom half. In the final extra inning bellbrook scored 4 unearned runs to go up 8-4 making the game seemingly over but CJ came back again with 5 runs for the walkoff win
Taylors #1 should be fresh. CJ im curious who they throw Downing or Stefan ?
Rain may win this one. I THINK the games are all next day if it rains correct?

Not sure how many pitches Hoagland threw Tuesday if he’s unavailable then I’d assume CJ throws both downing and Stefan in some capacity. Game should be next day yes

Peltier wins POY

1st Team: Peltier, Frasure, Downing
2nd Team: Hoagland, Stefan, Gonter-Day
HM: Switalkski-Lail

Taylor takes down CJ 8-3.
So i was down at Shipyard all weekend (very cool complex BTW!)

Taylor was down 2 starters. and started a Kid at 2b that had 3 AB's the entire year.
Taylor #1 Kearns was pretty good friday minus one mistake pitch to Frasure (who hit it 400+ feet!) He ended up throwing 81 pitches i believe.

Taylor will face Badin! They played a few weeks ago Badin won 7-6 in extras.
I am curious who Taylor throws if he is ready I think Kearns goes again. I imagine Rawlings throws for Badin?

Badin beats Taylor 6-0 and Buckeye Valley edges Eaton 2-1---Badin vs. Buckeye Valley Friday at 5:00 at Mason for a trip to State!!

Since 2016 the southwest region has been represented in the D2 final four with a gcl coed squad. Badin in 16, 21, 22 and CJ with 3 straight from 17-19. Pretty impressive conference and adding Roger Bacon as a finalist in 2018 in D3. Had Badin not been in the D1 tourney in 2018/19 there would have been some great battles with CJ in the regionals.

Pretty curious decision to start your number two pitcher who is a junior against the defending state champs. Dang sad for Rawlings to not get the nod in his senior year.

Rawlings is not necessarily Badins number 1. I would say Copenhaver has the better “stuff”, his issue had been command. Yet over his last few starts he had seemed to overcome those issues. They pitched Copenhaver in the district finals and regional semifinal games. Those were both shutouts. Unfortunately he struggled with his control early in the game against Hoban. After Hoban scored in the 3rd they didn’t touch him. Badin just didn’t hit enough once again and I can’t believe they didn’t bunt in the seventh after a lead off base hit. If you saw the game Hoban struggled with the bunt defense in the beginning of the game.
I still think Badin was the better team but it happens. Until next year.

Tough way to lose a game on a pop fly, two out, two run single. That’s baseball

To further the point. Badin pitching struck out 13 hitters. There were two bunt attempts for outs(terrible bunting team) and a runner thrown out attempting to steal. Out of 18 outs, only 2 other balls were put in play, plus Hoban's five hits. Hoban's #6 hitter, the second basemen that is committed to UC, struck out three times on 9 pitches. I don't think he had ever seen a slider before yesterday. I still can't believe Badin lost.

You’re totally right about the bunt in the seventh too. Pretty sure the same hitter was up that bunted successfully in the first inning and Hoban’s bunt defense was terrible. Frustrating to see the boys come so close

Yep

Treadway? Really?
The team that won the league
Um, ok. Then should we just pencil in Badin 95% of the time ??
They had a very successful season and were well coached. League champ doesn’t have to get the award each year but I don’t know how you can be surprised or offended that he won it based on this season. You would think when the first place coach and last place coach tie for the award you might question the last place coach winning it not the other way around

When you have overwhelming talent like Badin did this year it is their expectation to win the league and potentially a state title. So with that standard being set I would say Treadway had a below average year compared to the talent this years team had. Alter’s coach had way less talent and overachieved, therefore I think he did a much better coaching job
