If you read the article, they are putting the biggest schools into a smaller division 1, then dividing the rest of the schools up evenly. On paper, that looks like more athletes are getting a chance and the state makes more money. The state loves looking great on paper and making more money...

We are looking for a Tri or Quad on 2/1. We have nearly a full team (we do not have a 205 and my 122 is really close each week) and have several really solid wrestlers. We are willing to travel upwards of an hour.

Utica Youth Open Sunday, January 26th at Utica High School $20

I thought it would be better to start one thread of all the upcoming youth tournaments instead of having a bunch of mini threads clogging up the main feed.

It would have been interesting if they had gone from 8 to 12, instead of 16. Then you could have the top 4 teams on a bye, and potentially more interesting matchups in the first round. But that didn't happen, and they aren't going to backtrack to 16 so it is what it is.

Depends on where you are and how far you are willing to go but I coach at Utica (between Mount Vernon and Newark) and we have a dual tournament on Saturday, 12/21, and we are looking for a few more teams. Contact me on here and I'll get you any additional info you might need.
