Starting to think Iowa did it right in terms of baseball & softball. Their season is late spring into summer. They started their state tournament on July 5th (this would be the OHSAA equivalent not ACME).
OH should do 3 venues in 3 days and turn Historic Crew Stadium into a retractable roof structure as well as Paycor in Cincy (or dome it). Thursday would be either Cincy or Cleveland for 3 games. Friday would be Columbus for 3 games. Saturday 1 game in Cincy or Cleveland (whatever wasn't chosen...
Not pushing the idea as I could care less. I no longer have ties to any Ohio programs at this point as I can about guarantee none of my nephews by marriage will play football. You can go back to one team per region at this point. Most likely have 2 or 3 MAC state champs most years no matter the...
Yep the no seeding in Indiana is a huge flaw. Why I would seed the top 4 teams in the 8 team sectionals there. The bottom four are randomly drawn. Sure the possible 5th seed would yell & scream.
You'd definitely need 7 rounds for Ohio if you put 128 in D3 to D7. D1 & D2 could be depending on...
Most common I've noticed are leagues dropping to 7 or 8. A lot of leagues split into 2 divisions. Others are looking at having 7 or 8 conference teams if not going to 2 divisions. Gave more options for non-conferences at the start of the season. As for the senior night it's the last regular...
Ok? Everyone is playing 10 games still. The 10th would be a playoff game. If they kept the 16 per region and kept going until an all in, that would have been the logical format for all in. The only change is the 10th regular season game became a playoff game. Still ends the week after...
Id have to look again but if you kept 7 divisions and shorten the regular season to 9 games of all in with 128 teams (D3 to D7) in the playoffs you would be at the same length of the current system. It would be 9 & 7 instead of 10 & 6 currently.
The biggest problem is the schedules are far from being equal in high school more so than college & pro. I'll use an Indiana example as it's more familiar & fits better. Bishop Luers could go 0 to 2 wins and possibly win the 3A title in football if the SAC is loaded. They couldn't do that in...
Both systems suck. My ideal system would be all in (What Indiana does right) and seeding the top of half of the teams in Regions (Seeding what Ohio does right). I say the top half as you can random draw the bottom to play the seeds to try & avoid the big blowouts.
