Mizzou football hit with postseason ban, placed on probation

The University of Missouri football, softball and baseball teams will serve postseason bans and have been placed on three year of probation, the NCAA announced Thursday morning.

A former Missouri tutor violated NCAA ethical conduct, academic misconduct and academic extra benefits rules when she completed academic work for 12 student-athletes, according to a Division I Committee on Infractions panel.

“Once these issues were brought to our attention in November 2016, the university moved swiftly and fully cooperated with the NCAA Enforcement staff to jointly investigate the allegations that were made," Mizzou athletics director Jim Sterk said. “We are shocked and dismayed by the penalties that have been imposed today and will aggressively fight for what is right."

Mizzou's mistake was working with the NCAA while UNC did not, Mizzou put on probation, UNC not.
 
Did anyone see the quote from the head guy of compliance or infractions? Basically he was asked if this incentivizes schools to not work with the ncaa, he said you can certainly make that argument. What a joke
