Should be some very competitive district meets this year in the D1 Boys. With the exception of the Southwest where X's dominance continues the other districts will be very competitive for the team title. In fact expect X to set scoring records in their district and at the state meet. This appears to be the strongest X team ever! As for the other districts, based upon sectional times here's how they score out.
Northwest: Iggy 347; StF 271; Findlay 197; Fremont Ross 189; Medina 170; St Eds 167 & Sylvania Southview 165. Moving the NE teams into this district make it far more interesting. Although Iggy seems to have a strong lead remember StF always drops alot of time between sectionals and district. Expect a tight race here. Another StF victory would not be a surprise.
Northeast: Boardman 240; B/B Hghts 237; Solon 211; Jackson 184; Shaker Heights 171; Walsh Jesuit 162; Hudson 159. This one is razor thin between Boardman & B/B Hghts. The relays will likely determine the champ. Solon becomes competitive because of their divers, but to close the gap they will need a phenomenal taper.
Central: SC 283.5; Jerome 279; UA 276; Coffman 238.5. By far the most competitive meet. The Dublin schools will provide a legitimate challenge to SC and UA either of whom could finish as low a 4th - which would be the lowest finish for either since 2001 when SC finished 4th. Both SC & UA have room to move up in the relays; but neither look to move up much in the individual events. Both appear to have tapered the bottom of their team just to get guys to district. Jerome especially looks like they can drop more time. Should be a great meet. Diving points may determine the winner. SC cannot afford a DQ of their relay this year and retain the title.
