Worthington Wood Bat Tournament

We continue to follow the COVID-19 updates. If the 2020 Worthington Wood Bat Tournament is canceled, all teams will receive a 100% refund or can choose to have their entry fee credited towards our fall event or 2021 tournament.

We will make a final decision sometime in mid May. New guidelines and regulations by the Governor will be set and we will be will be able to determine what facilities will be available.

There are a lot walking parts in making the decision of the tournament running as scheduled. Right now fields are unavailable and will be likely up to the districts to allow them to be used. NCAA is on a dead period until July 1, so no recruiting allowed and fields most likely shut down. Most importantly health of athletes, will arms be ready. We do not want to rush this just to get it in.

We have an alternate date of July 30 - Aug 2 in our back pocket to allow dust to settle if needed.

We will make a decision sometime next week. Need to hear more from the governor and see how it impacts facilities. We are giving 100% refund for teams who chose to opt out or if dates are changed and are unable to participate.

That was going to be the next question.
I hope all tournaments decide to do that as well.

Yep. Due to the lack of fields and other factors we have decided to change the dates of the Worthington Wood Bat Tournament to July 30-August 2. If registered teams are unable to play, a full refund will be issued. However, registration will continue for any teams interested.

I am afraid you will see a big drop in participation as Football will start to rear its ugly head. Especially if schools move up their schedule.

Yes. We are aware that our numbers will drop due to football. Still wanted to give teams an opportunity to play or a full refund if they cant.
