WK 13 Massillon (12-0) vs Lake (9-3)

If Lake can play their game, they will have a shot. Bad snaps and mental errors cannot happen for them in round 3.
Unfortunately, Lake has little to no shot in this game. Offense is anemic and while the defense is good, they will not be able to stop Massillon. I see a running clock in this one.

Regarding the bad snaps for Lake. The center has a broken finger. He had zero bad snaps in the second half. Or the rest of the season.

Maybe you should research why the OHSAA "gave" Massillon a home game for the state championship before flapping your gums.
Doesn't matter why, just said that they did. I was just glad that they played the game and didn't cancel due to the flu. Would Massillon have played the game if it had been at Hoban? Or would they have said it wasn't fair? Yea I know Massillon would have brought 12,000 fans. Blah blah blah.

That makes sense about the center being hurt. I think if it wasn’t for the bad snaps Lake would have been up 14 to 0 at half.

I'm looking for a good clean game.between two respected communities. Can anyone expound on the green / Lake game? I'm thinking that was a fluke?

I was at the game. It wasn't a fluke. The Blue Streaks O-line had trouble against the Bulldog front, and when Lake fell behind by a few scores and needed to get the passing game going, they just couldn't.

For Lake to have a shot on Friday, they will need at least one, and probably two, touchdowns via defense or special teams.

So you're thinking that if the game was moved to Hoban....Massillon would have said "no thanks, we're not playing because it's not fair?"

My goodness brother think before you speak....still bitter about being kicked out of Massillon.

I know the Massillon fans and Fed fans like to jab at each other, but my outsider point of view is Lake will give Massillon a more physical and closer game than the typical Columbus area school would. Still, the Tigers are heavy favorites in this one.

And there is no way the OHSAA breaks with their tradition of sending Avon east to face Hoban in the semifinals. Avon has learned to accept it and embrace the challenge. The only way you’ll see a Hoban vs Massillon semifinal is if a very solid Anthony Wayne team wins R6.

I sure hope so. The Columbus area schools in this region are just too soft.

Not a ton on offense. While we have a solid team, this team isn’t quite as good as last years. Not sure this one will be competitive. Hoping it is.
Should be interesting. Massillon doesn’t usually give up much on the ground but I’m sure Lake will be prepping some stuff to catch the defense off guard and being overly aggressive

But as said earlier in this thread, it takes time to get to the level of the Avon’s, Massillon’s of the world. Hoping Lake can continue to stack deep playoff runs. Numbers are good and these types of games will pay dividends in the future.
I remember back in the day under Coach Durbin when Lake was at that level.
