Who will be Ohio’s Mr. Football

I meant 5, 6, 7, 8 over 9, 10, 11, 12, and then 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5. The 9-16 comment was just stating some negatives about the current situation.

There could be some teams that prefer to play straight through, but 16 weeks is a lot for high school football, so I'd think there would be some coaches that wouldn't mind a week off.
There has been two rank 15 that win out each year with one rank 16 team in 2021. What's wrong with one extra week of football for the team? There is an average of 8 teams a year ranked 13-16 that win round one each year.
I completely disagree that a team should be given a bye week. If you're worried about number of games, play a nine game season.

Pretty amazing what the difference in competition can do to a player. I talked previously about the QB from Lima Senior who was putting up video game stats. Played a pretty good Butler team in the playoffs and they got shut out 31–0. Just goes to show how bad the Toledo city league is.
Their first 9 opponents had a combined 19 wins

The bye week is to get rid of 13-16 but still let 4 bubble teams (9-12) play. The majority of 9-16 seeds stink.

I don't know if they have updated this since the playoffs started but here's what we are looking at for Brayden Devito.

Add at least 1 Touchdown to this on a pick 6 last week against Elida.

Had forgotten, He also had 1 receiving TD in that game as well.
Thanks!

It's about 10% each year that win the first round. I mean, what's the benefit of a bye?
If you're so worried about teams not performing, take the top two ranked teams in each region and play that way. Less games, less injuries, less wasted games. Drew Pasteur does a great job ranking, adapt his model and use that and remove the extra 14 teams in each region.

Not performing? It serves as a middle ground for some average and deserving playoff teams (9-12 seeds); it gives them a chance to play 5–8, and you see who the pretenders are moving forward. Personally, I'd prefer to see eight teams with no byes. You stepped in when I was talking about not wanting 16 teams since the bulk of the 13-16 are bad and it makes for garbage football.

You want 16 teams, and I want 8 but could see 12 working. I'm good here, you? Have a good week.

Yes, I'm saying why bother with rank 3-8. If we get a better ranking system we can just get the two best teams from each region and do away with this whole playoff format.
I think if a team is more than a 40 point underdog of any regular season game they should also have to forfeit the game and just take the loss. This will prevent extra injuries and serves the same purpose as what you are asking here.
6 regular season games, forced forfeits for blow out games, top two teams from each region going to playoffs. This will maximize each game played and shorten the season for the kids.

Regular season only I believe.
I am not sure if members of the OHSAA Ohio Prep Sportswriter's Association still make this choice. I believe last year, we received nomination list during the playoffs and I do not recall instructions either way as far as regular or post season. Have not seen nominee list yet.

BS! You started it with your put so and so on IV, and "they rush for the same amount of yards, if not more." That is why I made the comment about St. Clair.

I prefer that the top players be nominated; the competitive perspective can be used periodically. However, when Walsh fans dismiss Kinsey's 300 game versus Dover while praising Moten's game against D4 NDCL, it becomes a joke.

Also, you straight up said Moten is a better high school quarterback than St. Clair, which is only a comment that should be made by Moten's parents/family.
.
You have an obvious bias, so there is no reasoning with you. Have fun with the rest of SE Ohio on this string bemoaning how the media doesn't cover your games as much. There is a reason.

Runner yes. Passing no. Ponatoski is throwing not only more accurately but timing routes. Moten is a fine player just not at Ponatoski's level.
They are the same level passer. Moeller's offense is geared to pass the vast majority of the time. Walsh's offense relies on decision making by the QB. He throws the ball away if nothing is there, but throws an equally good ball as Ponatoski.
His edge is his running ability and big plays in big games.

I got it. You can name a bunch of running backs and claim that if you put them at Indian Valley they'd perform better than Kinsey, but when I respond with saying put St. Clair at Walsh J and they are a better team, you get upset and say Moten is a better HS quarterback than St. Clair. Yeah, I'm the one with the bias. smh. I ever once claimed Kinsey was the best or the favorite, ONLY that he was worthy of a finalist spot.

In terms of coverage, all I know about Walsh J is that they are known for girls' soccer. I don't think girls soccer is that popular in Gnadenhutten, which is why it doesn't get the same coverage, but I've never been there, so I can't be sure.

Rack, you attack everyone on here in support of an undersized QB because he goes to a parochial school or doesn't play in SE Ohio.
Maybe you should be the one playing girls soccer.

What does SE Ohio have to do with anything here? None of the guys mentioned play in SE Ohio.

Anything south of Canton is considered SE Ohio to me.

From Bolivar to Marietta, it all looks the same.

Okay, okay...so Rack supports East and SE Ohio. There is no way that's considered NE Ohio. Don't fool yourselves.

I didn’t say i agreed with it I just said it’s actually considered NE Ohio. In the attached pic you will see Tuscarawas county, this is all considered NE Ohio. I think it’s kinda silly myself but I wasn’t aware anyone would be offended by it.

Mad Jack, be serious, bud. If you believe you can go about naming a bunch of running backs and claim they'd all do better than Kinsey if they played at IV and saying that Moten is better than Tavion St. Clair, I'm gonna step in.

I defended Kinsey and St. Clair because WJ fans (most, not all. #1 Mad Jack) chose hate. Look at you, how many times have you trashed SE Ohio and SE OH football, 5X? And the one time I respond by mentioning WJ is known for girls soccer (which it is), you get upset.

I've said Moten and Kinsey should be finalists from the jump; ITS YOU that have attacked Kinsey and SE Ohio.

I disagree with this entire post. Moeller has actually ran the ball more than thrown statistically. Ponatoski has also been pulled from games early in the 2nd qtr multiple times because they’re ahead by 4 touchdowns. Also there is no edge in making big plays in big games. The level of competition is drastic. Come on maaaan. Moe’s schedule is rated top 3 in Ohio according to many sites
