Thanks. There's certainly nothing wrong with winning, but the reality is that of the 700 or so teams that play football in Ohio, over 600 will never, ever win the state title, and it has nothing to do with "the system". It's the working together to be the best each of them can be as a team that matters far more than trophies.so nice to see what I have been preaching forever, is put forth by a true fan of high school football. the values of loyalty, commitment, never quitting in the face of adversity, teamwork, etc. are probably more well taught when the team is losing, than when the team is winning.
It has absolutely killed high school athletics. You are completely blind to what is going on if you deny that.no, it has not

Marion Local, Coldwater, New Bremen, Fort Recovery, Anna, and Minster ?What OE schools have won state titles in say the last 10 years?
Yes it has. It has facilitated all the transfering we see today.no, it has not
Don't you know their home towns own those kids?
its a zero sum game in the end, for every W there is a L. by definition, since the entire exercise is justified COMPLETELY based on it's value as an expansion of the classroom (OHSAA literature) there is no difference between winning and losing except that it's more fun to win. The very same educational values could be realized better, and realized for a wider number of students, in other ways, such as intramural programs, instead of interscholastic competitions which is nothing but a wanna be pretend NFL professional specialist team or club model. which is funded in the name of education, but is actually an entry level job in the entertainment industry, using high school kids as the unpaid child labor talent and at considerable risk to their health, safety and welfare, if full contact tackle football is so full of educational value, and builds such wonderful character .. why are girls denied the benefits? because fathers don't want their daughters noses flattened and damaged? Don't you true believers want your daughters to experience the joy of running 40s and pancaking other girls into the turf? You don't want your daughters taking steroids and experiencing 'roid rage ? What is WRONG with you? Thanks.
