1. The Sun Also Rises - Hemingway. I like it even better the 2nd time.

2. The Crossing - Cormac McCarthy. The Spanish dialogue made it unnecessarily difficult to read and there is waaaaay too much philosophical rambling. I don't know if I will read Cities of the Plain and complete the trilogy or not.

Solid look at his life and Parkinson’s. He seems like a really genuine, down to earth guy.
 
If you're interested in communist propaganda Zinn is a great read.

If not, read A History of the American People by Paul Johnson.

I got it as a gift at Christmas "Ohio's Troy vs Piqua Football Rivalry" by David Fong. It is a history book on one of the longest rivalries in Ohio high school. Have no real connect to either school but since I am a real fan of Ohio high school football I found it to be an interesting read.
