What are some of the best pre game music being played

The post/pre season doldrums have set in and I thought I throw this out there. What are some of the best pre game warm up music blaring across the PA systems? BTW, it really sucks when the PA speakers are all but a crackle.

I dig Stebbins from a couple of years ago. They got me with the Trooper by Iron Maiden, War Pigs, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Beastie Boys and I think some Kid Rock. Granted I am an old guy and don't recognize much of the current hip hop, rap, etc. but it fits and they do a great job

Whatcha got?

I’d have to say Mechanicsburg… I know coming from a Burg fan “shocker” but it doesn’t get much better than coming out to “Enter Sandman”. Every single home game every year watching them come out to it and touch the rock always gets me pumped up, never gets old!

For Whom the Bell Tolls should be a mandated by OSHAA, I do think the Seniors should get the Aux. as they would say and get to hear their edited music for pregame and on field warmups. My son hates the music listed above doesn't get him hyped to play but, I would agree some hard rock does need played. Our facility has an overly nice PA system that is not used to its full potential for football and basketball. You wouldn't think that guys running the systems who grew up in the 90's with a trunk full of 12's wouldn't have the bass turned down.

Yeah that is a common one and definitely hype. Seven Nation Army is another classic along those lines.

I go to a few Cleveland Cavs games ever year and they used to BLAST a piece of One of These Days (Pink Floyd) before the intros, and the way it bounced off the surround sound with the strobe lights and flame canons was major hype. Though you probably have to be there. :)

Shut off the PA and allow the bands to provide the pre game,Steubenville does it and it is a great environment

Some schools have a hard enough time suggesting that their bands play more than the same 4 songs during the game and the same halftime show for 10 weeks a year....

Your high school playing the biggest hits of the 1930’s and 40’s during your playing days is the equivalent of what some will suggest their local school play today.

My daughter reminded my wife and I that 2025 and 1980 are as far removed as 1980 and 1935.
Fair point... But thankfully there's still a lot of kids today that love music from the 70's and 80's

I must live in the wrong corner of the state or something but I don't think I have every attended a game (excluding homecoming games) where the band has a different show every week of the season.

Depends a lot on the type and size of your school band. Ours isn't very big, and only has 1 director with a few part time helpers. They play in competitions most Saturdays through the fall, so football games are essentially their live dress rehearsals every week. I understand why they do it - just gets old after about week 3.... Once they are done with their competition season though they will change it up and just play a different selection of songs for the playoff games

Our band has historically done similar things. New Band director has changed us to a Show Band. So same show every week including playoffs.
