Game of the week: Two or three games could be close, but I'll go with the only between two teams within a game of first place, Elida and Celina. No one will be surprised if Celina is a unanimous pick though, especially if Elida's starting QB is out. Wapak should blow out Shawnee, and don't be surprised if Bath controls O-G, but I can see the other two games being close. Right now it looks like the league title race is down to four teams - Celina, Elida, Defiance, and Wapak. Anyone else needs all those teams to lose again and Celina to lose twice, with five weeks to go.
Last week was a decent week, the consensus went 3-2 with the losses being heavy favorite Elida, and barely favored Van Wert. Elida was favored 18-3, with St. Marys a 19-2 favorite over O-G, and Celina a 20-1 favorite over Kenton. Defiance was the only unanimous pick, over Shawnee. The close game of the week was Van Wert with a one-pick advantage over Wapak, 11-10. So most people lost Elida and about half missed on Van Wert as well. 11 people went 3-2, with eight going 4-1, the lone new picker of the week had the first losing record of 2-3 since two weeks ago, and for the third straight week there was one perfect record, as ShoelessJoe notched the feat. This is also the first week of the season that everyone that has made picks every week remembered to get theirs in this week.
The top two remain the same in the standings, but ShoelessJoe moves into a tie for second place, while the next group of six people is amazingly two games behind second place. There is no one with 22 games correct. If the games get a lot easier to pick, the top three might not drop at all.
