I try to attend or watch as many games online as possible, and it's primarily GWOC and GMC, but here are some thoughts about the GWOC leaders with 3 weeks remaining...
  • Springboro (1st) - a physical team and they play fast, but they have yet to play Centerville or Miamisburg. Questionable 2-0 loss to Troy that other GWOC leaders have dominated. They sometimes have a hard time generating quality SOG. I think they end up 3rd heading into the postseason.
- Prediction: 3rd
  • Miamisburg (Tied for 2nd) - isn't as easy as one might expect to gauge right now. They played Centerville and Lebanon well and have the talent on offense to hang with anyone, but they need to be stronger against average teams, particularly in the midfield. Beavercreek and Springboro are the last remaining "good" tests on the schedule. Should answer some remaining questions heading into the postseason.
- Prediction: 2nd
  • Centerville (Tied for 2nd) - a well-rounded team but has struggled this year on the counter attack. Ball gets bogged down on their side of the field for too long, leading to fewer-than-expected SOG. Will be a hell of an ending to the season when they play MND on 10/16.
- Prediction: 1st
  • Beavercreek (Tied for 4th) - hardest to gauge in this list. Has been sluggish on offense until recently, and now it's flipped to the defense. Their goalie was out a few games following an injury during MND game, so possibly a factor. Will be Interesting to see if they can keep recent offensive momentum going this week against a stronger defense.
- Prediction: 4th

Great reviews. You clearly know your GWOC. I used to make Centerville and Creek games from time to time. But I have been sticking on Cincy's East and West side mostly this year. Northmont seems to have some good club talent any idea why they are struggling so much? 2-0 losses to Centerville and Oakwood back to back followed by a 4-2 loss to Tipp.

After being beaten by Waynesville 4-0 just a week ago....Bellbrook took down the Spartans tonight at home.....3-1. The win moves the Eagles into first place in the SWBL east division.

Last season, the main issue was defense. Gave up way too many goals to offset any gains on offense. Seems to have carried over into this season. #10 is a very talented midfielder but isn't generating the kind of stats she had last year.

Any insight on the Creek v Burg game? This scored surprised me.

Great game. Creek is really starting to light it up on offense (something they were missing the 1st half of the season). Burg had some really good opportunities early and should have capitalized. Credit the goalie with a couple good saves, but one shot was simply misfired where the goalie would have had zero chance. It could have easily been 2-0 Burg in the first 10 minutes, but then Creek settled on D and never looked back. Scored twice before halftime, and then on a PK in the 2nd.

As I mentioned before, Creek has been one of the hardest to gauge this year. Their 3-0 loss to MND wasn't the kind of beatdown that score suggests (tied at half, and Creek's keeper left injured early in the 2nd). Biggest question mark was could their offense start clicking. They now have 10 goals in 3 games against good competition with #7 scoring 5 of those (team has 14 goals in 4 games if you count Wayne).

Made the drive up to the always interesting city of Middletown ( I understand why they had to move the football game due to violence issues) to watch some TFA Highlanders kick some butt. Middletown is so much worse than I Imagined. They gave up 7 goals to Reading that just tied Goshen. How has the GMC gotten so bad. Half the conference is just awful, and they seriously only have 2 teams out of 10 above .500

Highlanders looked really good but I think anyone would look good against what I saw last night.

I should have stayed closer to home and watched the hapless Spartans take on Little Miami. At least the omnipresent fear of a car jacking would not have been a distraction.

What makes you say that?
