Week 7: Austintown Fitch (5-1) vs Massillon Perry (3-3)

Both teams coming off losses and look to get back in the win column. Perry seems to have taken a step back after a great start. Hopefully the Falcons have learned a few things from last weeks beatdown and will be better from it. Looking at common opponents,I expect Fitch will take advantage of an edge in speed and athleticism, and after a tight first half, they will pull away in second half for a 27-10 victory! Good luck to both teams.
Nicely written.

Final:

Austintown Fitch 20

Perry 15

Terrible game by the Falcons. Can they be anymore undisciplined. Not going to cut it going forward.

Good luck to Perry the rest of the season.

Hard fought victory. The refs were calling every thing except the holding when Perry would go outside. Injuries hurting us again. I hope 71 is okay. Perry was pretty tough, but I think we had more talent. We have to stop making stupid penalties. How do you get two unsportsmanlike penalties at the end of the game? I will say that the defense made some great adjustments after that first drive. I thought here we go after that first drive. They are going to be able to pound it down our throats all night long, but we pretty much shut them down after that first drive. The sophomore looked pretty solid. He made some really nice throws. I still would like them to go to the tight end at least four times a game. It is wide open and the kid can catch and run. I feel a lot like I did after the Jackson game. I was happy for the win over a pretty good team, but I felt that we were a lot better than them athletically, but it did not play out on the field. But a win is a win. Congrats Falcons. Time to get ready for a tough McDowell team.

Congrats to Fitch on the win. Again it looked like mistakes and turnovers were a problem again for the Panthers.

Unfortunately my son’s game was canceled before it started because there was a fatal car accident involving the other teams students on their way to the game. One fatality confirmed. Very sad situation for the Norwayne community. My prayers are with them.

Praying for them. Puts everything in perspective.

So very sorry to hear that. Prayers and thoughts to all those involved.

If Perry would’ve had any balance on offense they win that game. As Perry’s coaching staff continues to not let our athletes play! Hats off to Austintown Fitch’s coaching staff for making the proper IN game adjustments. Good luck on the rest of your season.

Perry calls a time-out on 4th and half a yard to keep the drive alive but when they break the huddle they get a15 yard penalty for having 12 men on the field, apparently the punter was the 12th man out in the huddle, would have thought the coaching staff would have clued him in on the play, also noticed that number 22 and 27 our 2 big running backs didn't have any carries, were they hurt or in the dog house
