What is the best week 1 games? Not what game are you going to, just what games are the marquee match-ups for week 1 around Ohio. (in your opinion).
In the areas that I would travel to and know about: I have

Avon vs. Ignatius
Highland at Hudson
Walsh at Ursuline
Mass. Jackson at Mentor (not sure I should put this in the marquee level).

Have at it!!!!

Well, Avon vs. Ignatius looks to be the only one with a title contender. And ya gotta think that Ignatius is at least a push against any of the teams in the other games.

Those all have the potential to be very good games. It will be interesting to see if Ignatius can bounce back and at least get back to being a 6 or 7 win team. It may be tough for them to do that with their schedule. Hoban Eds, Avon, and Moeller are most likely going to be losses. Not sure who else is on their schedule.

Walsh is playing Ignatius. Close game I believe. Mentor and Iggy would be a close game imo. I think Iggy would have too much for Ursuline, Hudson and Highland.

Moeller/Princeton will have a ton of college bound players on the field for both teams at any given time. Throw on that it's an old classic rivalry with a traveling trophy despite them not meeting in the regular season since 2008, there's a lot going for it.

I have that game listed in my opening post. I agree it has the makings of being a really solid good game.
Walsh returns 8 starters including the QB from a team that averaged 40 points per game. Ursuline average 35 points per game last year. If you like high scoring games, this one’s for you.
Plus it’s on Thursday night so you can go to another game on Friday.

Thanks for the feedback. Especially since I did not know it was a week 1 Thursday game. And you're right, I can go to that Thursday, then go Friday to Avon vs. Ignatius. Sweet!

And week 2 is looking like Friday - Mentor at Ignatius.

Saturday - THE GAME I HAVE WAITED 5 YEARS FOR. LONG OVERDUE: St. Joe's Prep from Philadelphia PA - I think 4-5 time in row PA state champions in (6A) (which is like Ohio's Division I - and always nationally ranked) at St. Ed's. 3 in a row Ohio state champions.

Which is why Id say this game is slightly better just because you are guaranteed points. Ignatius still has to figure something out on offense so who knows

Canton McKinley is at Avon in Week 2, as well.

I saw that. McKinley always scares me to go watch when playing a really good team. They just never seem to be able to really hang. And Mentor vs. Iggy has yearly history now. And because of where the programs are at, the Mentor-Iggy game is more appealing than Ed's-Iggy.

You always have Glenville at Avon for Week 3.

Yes. Week 3 is between:
Glenville vs. Avon (are you 100% that it's at Avon and not at Glenville?)
Riverside is at Erie Prep
Medina at Wadsworth
