Was a GMC thread now it’s Winton Woods Football

It amazes me how so many on here just say Colerain is done for. Last year was one of the worst years in Colerain history and they still only lost to Princeton (11-2) having its best year in a long time by a score 13-12. They lost to LaSalle by less than a touchdown. They lose to Lakota East 7-6. Than play Elder in the playoffs at the Pit and lose in OT. They lost their head coach who took several players /coaches with him to Lakota West. I know it’s not the Colerain that dominated in the past but trust me the coach they have now has been with this program since Kerry Coombs was there. He will rebuild and once again Colerain will rise from the ashes.
Colerain hosts La Salle in week one while St. Xavier travels to Lakota West, should be two interesting games early

Nevermind I see it now. I really don't like that pertaining getting ready for the playoffs

With all the schools D1 and the playoffs expanded to 16 teams they are practically guaranteed to get in. It's just a matter of who gets seeded where. There's plenty of competition within the league. A Week 2 non-league game is going to have little effect nine weeks later.

I keep hearing that they will be pretty good. I was really disappointed that the Engleman's left, but understand why. I hope you are right
Vike’s reloaded on skill players. Offense will be just as good as last year with many weapons. Again, if the defense is stout, no telling how far they may go.

Offense just as good as last years that got shut out by West? There is definitely telling how far they may go. Wont win the GMC, wont win the region.

As with all recent Parker teams, he's great at assembling individual talent, but can't coach them as a team, and his teams have large defensive liabilities against the top level teams in the region. He really belongs as a college recruiting specialist, he definitely has a touch for bringing in kids from outside areas.

As Princeton moves further away from the Mike Daniels years, the drop off in coaching is going to show more. It was a tremendous loss for them, he was a fantastic coach.

I'm sure they will score many exciting touchdowns against overmatched teams this year and get their fan base excited, good for them. Ultimately, it won't matter when it counts.

Overall GMC is building some more interesting depth at the second tier. But clearly the league is West and the rest is arguing who else you want to throw in the second tier, Princeton, East, Fairfield, even Sycamore looked decent late last year, but I cant remember if their RB tandem is back or not.
The first year after Daniels leaves they win more games than they ever had this side of the millennium. And that was with the starting quarterback out for more than half the games. Daniels is in the rear view mirror.

Vikes had the highest Scoring offense in the GMC last year. Look it up if you don’t believe me. Easily verifiable. With a better o line than last year and the return of Riley Woods (remember that name), and a few others, scoreboard is going to light up. They will be fine this year.

Yeah they will be fine against every other team but West. Great offense, very explosive but when it’s the big game for the league title hopefully they will show up this year.

Anyone have info on how Sycamore will be this year? I know they were senior heavy last year, particularly with Ingle; seemed like most of the offense went through him, as it should have. He's @ the Naval Academy now, so what do the Aves have coming back?

From what I’ve seen and heard the Vikes will be fine. It’s not like West is a offensive powerhouse. I’m sure the league will have some surprised teams , Colerain was young last year as was FF , East lost a lot , Sycamore will hit u in the mouth and laugh at you , Hamilton new coach should be interesting

Like I said, I'm sure they will roll up any number of points against average teams in meaningless games. That doesn't mean they stand any chance of winning the GMC or the region. It just makes for a bunch of highlight reel stuff to watch while other teams are still playing in Nov. That's exactly what Parker is, a highlight reel guy who can't get a team to play like a team when it really counts.
He has the same amount of state championship as Bolden as head coach

Daniels was an awful coach! His clock management before halfs gave opponents short fields and a lot of time. They played played incredibly undisciplined football. Could’ve won a few games in the Danial’s era had there been coach in charge instead of someone who was just a big talker. At least he was able to resign before Princeton was forced to fire him.

Princeton’s offense is going to be fine. Just as explosive as last year. Break out year coming for Riley Woods. With the addition of Ishmail from Hamilton, now the Vikes will have two D1 6’4 Wide Receivers. The offensive line is experienced and will be good and a super freshman is coming. Question will be the defense. Offense will be the best in the GMC.
What about the O line? Wasn’t that a problem last year?

Both tackles (Daniel’s, Eberhardt) have D1 offers and the remaining players started and/or had significant playing time last year. Unit will be much better than last year. Line play diminished last year after Daniels played his fifth game due to transfer rules. He is back for the entire season, bigger and faster.

My guy this may be the worst take I have seen on this site ? okay not the worst but still if you are saying that all HCs without state titles are equal you are foolish. I believe that Parker as a HC is 88-32 (.637) and Bolden as a HC is 158-28 (.816). Not trying to say he is a bad coach but come on now ?

With all that talent going thru Colerain and only at .816 tells me I’m right . Just remember Parker had to build the WW program , The Program at Princeton is built he just needs to tweak what Mcglaicin and Daniels started

Didn't WW win state the year before Parker took over? ?‍♂️

You sound so foolish, it will sure be a shame when West taps Princeton this year @ Princeton. Ya know since Princeton’s HC is so superior then West’s.

Also Colerain has had a ton of talent come through yes but no any more than other major program in Ohio. My son played on that 2016 Colerain team. They had an average O-Line weight of like 210 pounds and their D-Line was easily 180 pounds. Dude took over West and in 3 years (1 of them being a crazy pandemic year) they were 2 touchdown drops away from probably going to state last year.

Again before you try and twist my words again, Parker is not a bad coach but he is just not on the level of Bolden, Specht, and Ramsey.

I am sorry to inform you that Fisher only leads 1 category in the GMC among returning players. Decent ball player but it’s not like JuTahn McClain is coming back.
And also…. This was pointed out to me today if the Beach kid doesn’t transfer from 2a Walton Verona to Princeton- Fisher would be the leader in four. So If I had to pick between the two of those kids I’d take the kid who played in the GMC for two years.

Understandable I’d most likely take him too but he does play QB, you know that right? 6 TDs and 13 INTs last season is not great to be nice…. Not a force running either 15th last season in the GMC in rushing statistics. His 12 rushing TDs were 7th in the GMC last year. Not saying he’s a bad ball player but to get on here and talk about him like he’s a force to be reckoned with is just wrong.

Who said he is a force to be reckoned -with being a Colerain guy im sure you’ve watched him. He will be fine, the point was that Fairfield had some good kids returning - pointed some things out to that effect however those points were skewed by a transfer. Just pointing it.

Wait a minute -- are they talking about the Tyson Beach kid who transferred from Walton Verona (in KY) to Princeton? Let me help a little -- 3rd school in 3 years. At Walton -- who played powerhouses like Gallatin County, Owen County and other KY never will be powers.

Is this the Tyson Beach sending out pictures of his numbers from Walton Verona added to GMC stats? Pretty sure it is.
Walton played one good team last year ... Beechwood -- wait for it ... Tyson Beach had a grand total of 14 yards against Beechwood's 1st team (granted -- the Beechwood 1st team only played a total of 6 minutes -- seeing as how it was 42 to 0 before this "super star" had a positive yardage carry).

Comical that anyone would think that he is near the top of any real category for the GMC. Then--to send out that trash on the internet ... lets just say I would be willing to bet he doesn't make it 5 games before he transfers back to Kentucky or maybe Indiana ... he hasn't been there yet.

No offense --- Fisher, Bolden any other player towards the top of GMC stats have earned their place there.

I can't believe that I even have to fill this crowd in on this topic. Over on this side of the river -- we have been dealing with this kids mouth for 2 years now -- and has nothing to show for it at all against quality teams. So please, by all means, lets take the Walton Verona stats out of the GMC preseason stat list. If he gets the job done against teams in the GMC -- then he can brag about his numbers. Until that point -- about 4 minutes of investigation will prove to be time well spent in learning the reality of who should be at the top of the list and who shouldn't.

Man ... Walton Verona? People over here having been laughing about this for a month now ... couldn't gain 15 yards against Beechwood ... but he is at the top of the pre-season stats in the GMC. Good grief.

Ohio certainly isn't Kentucky and I sure hope someone talks some sense into this kid before he decides to brag about something that he did at the 2nd lowest level in Kentucky.

Screen shot below ... for kicks and giggles.
