Was a GMC thread now it’s Winton Woods Football

Offense just as good as last years that got shut out by West? There is definitely telling how far they may go. Wont win the GMC, wont win the region.

As with all recent Parker teams, he's great at assembling individual talent, but can't coach them as a team, and his teams have large defensive liabilities against the top level teams in the region. He really belongs as a college recruiting specialist, he definitely has a touch for bringing in kids from outside areas.

As Princeton moves further away from the Mike Daniels years, the drop off in coaching is going to show more. It was a tremendous loss for them, he was a fantastic coach.

I'm sure they will score many exciting touchdowns against overmatched teams this year and get their fan base excited, good for them. Ultimately, it won't matter when it counts.

Overall GMC is building some more interesting depth at the second tier. But clearly the league is West and the rest is arguing who else you want to throw in the second tier, Princeton, East, Fairfield, even Sycamore looked decent late last year, but I cant remember if their RB tandem is back or not.
Coach Parker coached good enough to compete and sometimes beat GCL SOUTH teams.

You sound so foolish, it will sure be a shame when West taps Princeton this year @ Princeton. Ya know since Princeton’s HC is so superior then West’s.

Also Colerain has had a ton of talent come through yes but no any more than other major program in Ohio. My son played on that 2016 Colerain team. They had an average O-Line weight of like 210 pounds and their D-Line was easily 180 pounds. Dude took over West and in 3 years (1 of them being a crazy pandemic year) they were 2 touchdown drops away from probably going to state last year.

Again before you try and twist my words again, Parker is not a bad coach but he is just not on the level of Bolden, Specht, and Ramsey.
Ask Coach Ramsay if he feels the same as you.

It amazes me how so many on here just say Colerain is done for. Last year was one of the worst years in Colerain history and they still only lost to Princeton (11-2) having its best year in a long time by a score 13-12. They lost to LaSalle by less than a touchdown. They lose to Lakota East 7-6. Than play Elder in the playoffs at the Pit and lose in OT. They lost their head coach who took several players /coaches with him to Lakota West. I know it’s not the Colerain that dominated in the past but trust me the coach they have now has been with this program since Kerry Coombs was there. He will rebuild and once again Colerain will rise from the ashes.
Start making some noise and maybe they will feel differently.

So all coaches with no state championships have the same coaching ability? Sensible argument.

There's a reason Daniels is on a P5 coaching staff right now.

I'm done discussing this for the time being. Bookmark this thread, let's talk again during the R4 finals week.
Because he’s a GREAT RECRUITER!

Let’s just see how your boy Parker and Princeton do this year. Honestly hope they do we’ll need GMC teams to perform better to shut up the GCL guys on here. I mean man no one here said he was a bad coach just not same caliber. Please get off his jock strap and give him some room to breathe lol

Wait a minute -- are they talking about the Tyson Beach kid who transferred from Walton Verona (in KY) to Princeton? Let me help a little -- 3rd school in 3 years. At Walton -- who played powerhouses like Gallatin County, Owen County and other KY never will be powers.

Is this the Tyson Beach sending out pictures of his numbers from Walton Verona added to GMC stats? Pretty sure it is.
Walton played one good team last year ... Beechwood -- wait for it ... Tyson Beach had a grand total of 14 yards against Beechwood's 1st team (granted -- the Beechwood 1st team only played a total of 6 minutes -- seeing as how it was 42 to 0 before this "super star" had a positive yardage carry).

Comical that anyone would think that he is near the top of any real category for the GMC. Then--to send out that trash on the internet ... lets just say I would be willing to bet he doesn't make it 5 games before he transfers back to Kentucky or maybe Indiana ... he hasn't been there yet.

No offense --- Fisher, Bolden any other player towards the top of GMC stats have earned their place there.

I can't believe that I even have to fill this crowd in on this topic. Over on this side of the river -- we have been dealing with this kids mouth for 2 years now -- and has nothing to show for it at all against quality teams. So please, by all means, lets take the Walton Verona stats out of the GMC preseason stat list. If he gets the job done against teams in the GMC -- then he can brag about his numbers. Until that point -- about 4 minutes of investigation will prove to be time well spent in learning the reality of who should be at the top of the list and who shouldn't.

Man ... Walton Verona? People over here having been laughing about this for a month now ... couldn't gain 15 yards against Beechwood ... but he is at the top of the pre-season stats in the GMC. Good grief.

Ohio certainly isn't Kentucky and I sure hope someone talks some sense into this kid before he decides to brag about something that he did at the 2nd lowest level in Kentucky.

Screen shot below ... for kicks and giggles.
Trust me until we see it I don’t think anyone is really stressing about that kid being on top of some list. He has proved anything, not in this league and not in SW Ohio.

I will say he's a bad coach. His teams regularly under achieve relative to the superior talent he recruits, never win games they shouldn't win on paper, and frequently give up 35+ points in big games, especially against teams outside of SWO.

WWs staff was significantly upgraded when he left and Gray came in, and you can see the results.

They are going to make a lot of noise with highlight reel plays against average and overmatched competition, and ultimately be completely forgotten by the time the regional finals roll around. Bookmark it, and let's see then.
Yes, WW will be contending for another state title and the new staff is tremendous. We will have to agree to disagree about Coach Parker as he took the WW program and raised the level expectations to greater heights especially competing with an independent schedule for a number of years. The new staff is very good and I also know them on a personal basis. Very good coaches and very good men! The future is bright!
Go Warriors!!

Another thing I want u guys to stop doing is saying WW gets so many kids from different districts. Well this yr alone ww gained 2 transfers & lost maybe 8 kids who transferred out to other districts. WW lost kids to Mt. Healthy, Colerain, Princeton Woodward Withrow etc...

That discussion is more about Parker than it is about WW now, and the number of kids doesn't matter, the quality does. Kids leave public districts all over the place for schools that are private and/or recruit, been happening for decades. The only action that has any meaning is, what are you bringing in from outside your borders? If you are bringing in significant team pieces via recruiting, you are operating much more like a private school than you are a public one.
Kramer here's the deal each school on tht side of town gets kids from Mt. Healthy, Colerain, & NW. Lasalle gets kids from those districts as well and of course Colerain gets kids from the districts alone. WW has 2 kids tht live in cps district the rest are either in Colerain, Mt. Healthy & Northwest. Can you blame the parents that live in any of those districts that decided to do what's best for their child? You want quality 2 kids who bolted for Mt. Healthy will start 1s a qb & the others a wr. Another QB left & he will be the starter at Woodward and could've been in competition at WW had he decided to stay. Lost a starting D lineman to Withrow. I mean I can go on and on. Colerain was getting Mt. Healthy kids & Northwest kids for years and even had a kid from "Avondale" starting in the secondary many years ago. Does the name Eugene Clifford sound familiar? My point is those districts have good players who decided they didn't want to play for Mt Healthy or NW. Mt. Healthy longstanding coach bolted this yr.

WW has by far the largest competitive balance multiplier among public schools in D2, and the 2nd highest in the state among all public schools...and actually higher than quite a few private schools. Hence, they're most definitely "getting many kids from other districts."

The fact that Winton Woods is being discussed in this thread is so dumb. Last time I checked WW isn’t in the GMC, isn’t in the same division. Parker is the HC of Princeton not WW. If we want to talk warrior football I’m sure there is another thread for that ?

Couple of things here. I don’t what’s crazier. You thinking we are worried about a kid from Kentucky, or how you are talking about a kid that way.

We are excited to have him join the GMC but he hasn’t shown us anything yet. Looking at his film and team stats it appears he had no Offensive line or other real assistance to help him. I think he’ll fit right in, so let’s scratch the whole 14 yards in 6 minutes crap. What is that like 2 maybe 3 drives. wish he would have came to West.
Bolden and Fisher aren’t worried about any list I’ll tell you that.

But seriously why do you seem so upset that the kid leaving you have to talk down on kid instead of wishing him the best? To talk that way about a kid who by looking at the stats lead your team in all categories as a sophomore. If that’s what you guys do in Kentucky then keep it in Kentucky.

Led my team? Yeah ... lets be real clear -- "my team" would never put up with a player who constantly puts himself above the team and feels the need to try to brag about statistics that he did not obtain against the competition that the others had to deal with last season. It wouldn't be tolerated -- and chances are -- he wouldn't step on the field for one play ... let alone one season.

So you admit ... he hasn't shown you (or the GMC) anything yet ... then why are you okay with a player who tries to publicize himself against players who have played in the league? It is an insult to the league, the players and it puts a bullseye square on his back for however long he lasts at Princeton. Do you think the Princeton coach is okay with this trash? If so ... it speaks volumes.

You know ... the great thing about social media -- is that you can learn a lot about a person based on the information that they put out into public about their self. Do you honestly think that kids should be able to put this garbage out in public -- and not face any sort of accountability for the trash that they put out in public? Seriously -- if not when they are kids -- then when? It would be one thing if this trash was an accurate depiction of reality ... but it isn't. And it speaks to why this player is on his 3rd team in 3 seasons.

But -- you are right -- I am just a big, mean, scary adult who should just let stuff like this go. Give me a freaking break. If someone would have called this trash out 3 years ago ... maybe the situation would be different now. It isn't. And it won't be -- because in your eyes -- no one should call him out for putting out trash into the public and it is my fault because I am speaking about a kid this way. Yeah well ... whatever.

So by all means ... please continue to make excuses for this player ... just remember that when you do -- you aren't doing a thing to help him for the rest of his life. Supporting ridiculous comments in social media shows him that what he did was okay ... or cool ... or acceptable.

At the very least ... why would he want to make his transition any harder than it is already going to be? Why show colleges, potential employers, people in your future that you don't respect your opponents? Maybe you need to sit down with him as an adult and explain to him that what he did is wrong?

Over here in Kain-Tuck-eeeee we have been watching this show for a long time now .... same story ... different year. From there ... keep doing things the exact same way that you have done in the past .. and assume that the results are different. He isn't helping himself at all by making it blatantly clear that he hasn't learned anything in the past 3 years.

Completely agree, but what do you mean 3rd school in 3 seasons. The list had him at Walton Verona in 2021&20

The Majority of kids on WW live in Forest Park. The majority of those that transfer aren’t affiliated with sports.

We should never be having a conversation about what "majority" means at a public school. The minute "all" your kids don't live within your borders, you are now playing the Catholic school recruiting game.
The “majority” of Yappi posters don’t create a 2nd screen name just to stalk Winton Woods and others.
Why did you stop using the other screen name? We’re you kicked off Yappi or something?

Someone posted on Yappi that around 70% of school districts in Ohio have some form of Open Enrollment.
Olentangy is like 100 miles from Greenhills and Forest Park so why is this so important to you?

OHSAA sets the rules so why you ride WW’s jock all the time?
Families have the right to decide what is best for their own kids.

Oh it’s a GMC thread so I’ll mention there are now and have been plenty WW district residents attending GMC schools.
WW folks ain’t cryin like sissies about it.
More power to those kids.

A better question to ask would be, why do you care what I have opinions about? Why do you have such a hard-on for always calling me out? I went to HS in SWO and have lots of friends and family down there still, including a couple HS friends who are are coaching staffs down there. I have been and will continue to follow SWO HS football, dont really give a flying F what you think.

Public schools acting like private ones is a constantly debated issue, we are having another discussion about a COH school in Pickerington North that has entered the aggressive recruiting ring. I don't "stalk" anyone, I call out abuses of the system I see for discussion.

There are dozens of different academic reasons that "open enrollment" programs exist for various schools, and it's hilarious to watch you clowns from WW have to pull something into the conversation like this 70% BS when everybody knows a very small% of those 70% are abusing it for football program reasons. Or hiding behind a comment like "the majority", when that could mean 1 out of every 5 kids comes from somewhere else and still technically be correct.

OF COURSE WW isn't complaining about the kids that leave, because they have success pulling other kids to replace them. Very few other public schools do.

Look, I get it, you can't handle discussing the topics I bring up, so you have to resort to personal attacks instead.

It's an important topic, and it deserved to be discussed.
WW can make the argument (from a fb standpoint), that they don't need to recruit the product speaks for itself, thus it recruits itself? Its not like the Westside of Cincinnati has a bastion of high "academic" (public) schools to choose from? I'll send my kid to the school that best fits the needs of my family... for many WW is the answer. ?‍♂️

Your opinion on Colerain taking Northwest and Mt.Healthy kids is way off.
The current Chicago Bears RB (David Montgomery) went to Colerain Jr. High School and his parents moved into Mt.Healthy where he played high school football. Northwest High School (Preston Brown) Buffalo Bills Linebacker led the NFL in tackles in 2017. Your theory is wrong!!
