Warren G Harding (1-1) @ Perry (2-0)

 
Warren Harding offense only scored 2 TD against McKinley. Perry will hold Warren to 1 TD in a 21-7 victory.

Warren got a pick 6 against the Bulldogs.
 
If WGH defense can stay disciplined, take care of the ball and limit any penalties, I like their chances. Sims hasn't had a breakout game yet and I think he is over due. This is going to be a very good game. Will it be televised/streamed?

You have no idea what Harding had to deal with leading up to the McKinley game and they still almost won. Believe me when I tell you that our fans are excited about the direction that the program is headed in and to your point, Perry is a nice challenge to see where they are at.

Hey Worm, hope all is well. Out of curiosity was there a true QB battle to start the season. I had heard in the scrimmage against Big Red, Richardson used 4 kids at QB pretty much evenly.

If Perry had played a team better than Saint V's I'd love to agree. Unfortunately, they haven't yet, so I'm not going to jump on the hype train until after I see the results Friday. Regardless, Perry's offense has not looked exceptional to me, but again this could change as of Friday.

In football, everything is earned. Nothing was given, especially when you’re dealing with a new coaching staff. However, the scrimmage vs. Steubenville was used to test the physical toughness of our young men. To give them some contact against a proven group of athletes that don’t know them.

Outside of that, nobody knew Harding’s game plan for McKinley. That strategy nearly resulted in a huge upset.

Every team has things to deal with. It was a loss. Its a new era in Warren and everyone wants the best for those young men. Maybe get back to the level they were in the 90's. It takes hard work to get there and it starts with the young men who suit up, THEY have to want it!!!!

@CantonKid talked about how Harding’s offense only scored twice, but there’s a major reason why the attack was anemic in week 1. If McKinley would’ve been presented with the same circumstance the week of the game, they would’ve been lucky to score in double digits. The situation has never been brought up on Yappi, so I’ll let people fill in the blanks. Warren fans know what I’m referencing though.

In the long run, the sudden step back will eventually result in several steps forward and again, Perry is literally the perfect challenge for Harding right now.
 
This game will most definitely reveal just how good both Warren Harding and Perry actually are in 2024. I think WH wins a close one, but I am very tempted to go with the Panthers because of their home field advantage and defensive tenacity. Best player on the field will be Harding's QB.
 
The Perry D is definitely improved, but they also haven’t played a good offense yet either. I watched the STV game last week and that offense left much to be desired. Especially when the QB went out.

This will be close, I’ll take WGH 21-17
