URSULINE & MOONEY PROJECTIONS/DISCUSSIONS 2024

OMG can it get any worse over on Erie Street? Do the ducks have the guns? There is no humor in this situation. As a parochial school backer, I am embarrassed for the school. It is time for the powers to step in and clean up this mess. I know "it can happen anywhere", this is true. BUT, COME ON, MAN.
I mean, the story reads as a father coming in and punching a coach in the face. Not much you can do there

Has there been anymore talk about the indoor facility? I found a few renderings. Looks like they have a few choices for design.

It's going forward. Should be completed by 2026. Reportedly there is a very large donation coming in from a prominent donor to the program.

Do you know if they are turfing the practice field? There was always talk that they would even when I was there but I remember that the field isn't a full 100 yards or something. I feel this facility will help differentiate us from other parochial schools when it comes to those kids that are on the fence.

In late playoff season we would always beg to go to Watts but we ended up practicing at stambaugh because the mud was so bad. I vividly remember coach Kempe saying to us on Thanksgiving day practice "make the school have to put one in" so we destroyed that field and left covered in freezing mud lol

They use Cafaro Field for most of the practices now. They will use the grass field a couple of times a week right now but if it gets too bad they just stay on the turf. The grass area isn't a full 100 but I believe the plan is to put turf there also.

You are right, this will completely seperate Ursuline from everyone else facilities wise. Harding has the new indoor but that is about it locally. I can see Fitch doing something down the road, they seem to get money and have really nice facilities. Mooney needs to take a long hard look in the mirror and get their stuff together or they will become obsolete.

When I played at the academy (UHS), we had to walk the field before practice to remove the cinders that had come off from the "track." The lower field may have been 80 yards long. It would actually get lined up to three times, a year! Ohio Auto Body was the end zone on the "upper field."

They still lined it when I was there in the 20 teens. The freshmen were on the hill with the goal post. We would only see the main field when they put the freshmen kickoff/kick return team against the varsity. One time Chris Durkin took the return just for fun and it took about 8 of us to drag him down lol

Well, what do we have here? Do the cards get in the playoffs with a victory? They are having a l as than stellar year, but that is a little more beef for the pot!

2024- 70th meeting

*- played twice
**- forfeit

Cards lead series 40-26-3

Cinci,

No disrespect intended as your scores are correct but I believe your total is off by one. As of right now, to my knowledge, the series stands at 41-25-3 Mooney and that is counting the 2001 forfeit as an Irish victory. If one counts the 2001 forfeit as a Mooney win, which I do not, the Cardinals would lead the series 42-24-3.

Good luck to both teams in the 70th meeting.

CalPreps has Ursuline winning 28-6. Good luck to the Irish this week. Let’s make it six in a row against Mooney!

2001 forfeit? I don’t recall

The switch has been flipped for the Irish. This game won't be that close. I'm more inline with Drew's prediction. The Irish win by 30+.

I'm hoping one day for all black (helmets, pants, jersey) I know it will never happen.

Mooney can always be a trap game, but Ursuline's defense is playing lights out. I think it's starts off a little slow but ursuline hopefully pulls aways in the second half.

In a game like this it's important to keep the 1s healthy for post season. Even if that means giving up a late touch down or two because of the JVs. Can't wait for a cold night at stambaugh!!!

Mooney will never be a “trap game.”
